An Interesting Night

I go through my cupboard in pure frustration.

Not only do I not want to do this, but I can't find anything to wear.

I finally find a nice outfit.

Mustard coloured jeans, a blue and white patterned top and a brown leather jacket.

I quickly put it on as well as some makeup and hair products.

I brush my hair and check its bounce then grab my purse and phone.

Finally I am ready.

I say goodbye to Pom Pom, as my parents had already left for dinner.

I get in my car and drive to Toms place.

As I park my car and reach the door, it opens and I see a familiar face.

"Tara!!!" He says in excitement.

"Hey Tom!" I say as he embraces me in a hug.

"What's been happening?" He says enthusiastically.

"Not much."

I sigh, thinking about Chris.

Is it even possible for me to fall so in love with someone so quickly?

"Come on in then!" Tom snaps me out of my thoughts.

I smile at him as he holds my hand and leads me into his beautiful house.

"Here we are m'lady." He says as he pulls a seat out for me at a beautifully decorated dinner table.

"Thank you." I reply.

He sits down across from me and smiles.

"I have missed you so much." he says.

I look directly at him.

He hated me in high school.

I had a massive crush on him in year nine and he thought that would cramp his style.

How could he miss me?

He didn't even give me a chance.

What a dick.

"Me too." I reply bluntly.

"I know we weren't exactly friends in high school and all, but I want to be friends now. You have changed. Definitely for the better."

I glare at him then smile.

"Thank you. I can see you haven't changed that much."

He laughs and I watch him intently.

"Is that a good thing?" He asks.

"It depends on how you see yourself."

He laughs again.

I smile at the lump of pure stupidity in front of me.

I just insulted him, and he laughed.

How naive can one be?

"Well I manage to see myself fairly highly. So I guess not changing is a good thing." he says.

I sigh and fake a smile.

"Of course." I reply.

Suddenly a waiter comes out of the kitchen and places two small dishes on the table.

"Thanks." I mutter.

The man looks at me and gives me a sympathetic look.

Obviously he knows Tom well.
