Luna Brunswith POV

"Come on!"

"I'm coming, Autumn! You know I'm not that fast." I hop over a large root that would have tripped me if I hadn't seen it at the last second.

"I know, but we're going to be late for the hunt. We can't be there last again!"

I nod, knowing Autumn's right about that. We were usually late for the hunts do to our lack of motivation of getting up in the morning. If it wasn't for Autumn waking me up, I probably would have slept right through it.

We hustle down the corridor and make a sharp left at the intersection; where the small passageway dumps us out into the great hall, where the hunt group is already about to leave.

Autumn and I carefully slip into the back of the line where the last Nightcrawler is about to climb up the ladder and out of the Sunhole.

"We made it. Thank God." Autumn heaves a sigh of relief and starts climbing feverishly up the ladder. I follow in hot pursuit, until we make it to the top of the ladder and carefully step out of the Sunhole.

Outside, the hot summer morning blazes down on our little group with a fierce intensity. The humidity in the air causes my clothes to stick to my body and sweat to trickle down my back. The grass is a bright green with little dew drops on the blades; sparkling in the sun's light.

"Jeez, we've only been out here for two minutes and the heat's already killing me," Autumn wheezes.

"Says the girl who just got here," replies a voice from behind us and we spin around on our heel. Behind us stands Leo- the leader of the hunt group. He's tall, with a tan complexion and milky brown eyes. His messy black hair sticks to his sweaty face from the heat; and his large muscles glisten with sweat. Leo tries his best to look mad, but not doing a very good job.

"Sorry! I mean, it was really early and um, it was just, yeah," Autumn stammers; while I try my best not to burst out laughing. It's obvious Autumn has a major crush on Leo. I pretend to be fixing my hair, but really hiding my suppressed smile behind my hand.

Leo glances in my direction and then sighs loudly. "How many times do I have to tell you girls? Just please make this the last time, I don't want to have to give you consequences."

Autumn and I both nod. "Sorry Leo." We both say in unison, while he walks away to get the hunt started.
