11. The Vanity of Narcissus.

She was going to help him.
She had decided.

Kate was going to help Nicolae talk again.

She wanted to hear his velvety voice with her ears, not only with her mind.

Nicolae wasn't sure he was going to accomplish that but he would never tell her no.

"I promise you, it will work out." She told him enthusiastically, as they walked through the garden.

"You just need to keep exercising your voice. Today was good." She nodded and they entered the greenhouse.

"Yes." He said, following her. He was starting with little sentences.

Kate believed in what she was saying and hoped he would believe it too.

As they got to the area they had been working on a couple days before, they both stopped in their tracks.

That whole side of the greenhouse was in bloom.

Kate was confused, she really didn't understand how could that be possible.

"Did you do that?" She asked Nicolae, thinking he had used his powers or something.

"No. You did." He told her with a smile. Nicolae had known for a while now that she had some magic hidden deep inside, but didn't ask any questions yet because he figured out she didn't know.

"Me? How?" She walked up to the beautiful vines that seemingly overnight had taken over the wall.

"You have powers." He cleared his voice as it started lowering.

You are attuned with nature, Kate.

She touched some of the new flowers in the garden bed as the memories of her mother's garden came back to her.

"I remember my mother..." She whispered.

Kate had told the vampire about her mom, her beautiful place and her slow death.

"Her garden, it would bloom overnight just like this. Do you think...?" She meant if he thought she got these powers from her mother.

"It is very possible, yes." He nodded examining the amazing display of her powers.

I believe it's called Chlorokinesis.

He informed her enjoying the sight of her surrounded by her element.

"Do you know about it? Chlorokinesis?" She asked him while a little vine entangled around her hand.

Nicolae smiled. "Yes. I believe you could learn to do more, like you just did now." He pointed at the vine.

She gasped in surprise.

Nicolae laughed.

"You have powers, can you teach me to use mine?" She walked up to him, touching his face.

"Of course, Kate."

Kate smiled and kissed him.

In a place far away from Mystery Spell, someone's phone started to ring.

The man picked up not recognising the number on the screen. He moved in front of one of the window of his office, looking at his own reflection and smiling charmingly to himself.

"Hello?" He said.

A frantic voice on the other side, rambling about weird stuff.

"Who is this? Bill? Is that you?"
