My name is Twinkle and I met Mark Stanton when I was just two years old... and growing up, boy, did I hate him.  He was always chasing me with frogs or pushing me in the mud, pulling my braids and name-calling me.  It wasn't like I could get away from him either... and not only were we next door neighbors but my mom was best friends with his dad.

As we got older, things started to change... and as the months turned into years we became friends. He started defending me when other boys would call me names and instead of pulling my hair, he'd tuck it behind my ear. We'd talk for hours down by the lake... I'd help him with homework, and he'd teach me how to fish. When we were forced to go home we'd sit by our windows and continue with our conversations. Me and him were inseparable, I don't know when it happen but friendship slowly morphed into love... at least It did  for me and I fell so hard for Mark Stanton, I was just too afraid to tell him. Until one day...

Twinkle: Can you believe tomorrow is our first day of high school? I feel so old [Laughing]

Mark:  I know what you mean, It seems like it was just yesterday we were stealing apples from O'Grady's farm. Do you remember that?

Twinkle: How could I forget? [giggles] or, when we were in 4th grade and you stole Mrs. Bundie's dentures and brought them in for show-and-tell!

Mark:  I was grounded for weeks! [Laughs] Man, we have good memories together...Don't we?

Twinkle:  We do, Its just... what If things change between us now? What if we don't have any classes together? or the same lunch shift? [sighs]

Mark:  Hey now...  Don't think like that, you and I are going to be just fine :) Anyway, how's your mom dealing? She must be so emotional.

Twinkle:  You know her too well. This morning I caught her crying over baby pictures of me

Mark:  Well, her little girl has grown up and now you're.... [Cries a bit]

Twinkle:  Now I'm what?

Mark:  Uhm... Nothing.

[Phone dings]

Mark: Hey, I think you got a text.

Twinkle:  Ugh... It's Brent again, he just won't stop texting me.

Mark:  Brent? Why the hells he texting you?

Twinkle:  He wants to go on a date now that we're in high school and everyone knows that was my mom's rule.

Mark:  You can't go out with him!

Twinkle:  I don't want to but why couldn't I if I wanted to!?

Mark:  Because....

please admit the truth...  tell me you love me like I love you.

Mark:  Because Brent is an idiot, that's why!

Twinkle:  And that's the only reason?

Mark:  Yes what other reason would there be?

It has to be me...It's now or never.

Twinkle:  Mark, I love you.

Mark:  What?!

Twinkle: I...love you and I don't know when the hell it happened, but... I can't keep it in any longer.

Mark:  I...

Twinkle:  I'm sorry if you don't feel the same way! I just couldn't start high school without telling you but if you don't feel the same way- Can we still be best friends? I have no idea what I would do without you.
