The function is in basu badi says Veena to her daughter, who is getting ready. She gets a call and she recieves it. Veena - hello, mohini ji, haan abhi bas nikal rahe hai, tikhe hai, ji And she cuts the call. Prerna - kya hua maa, kya kaha mom ne ? Veena - sab log aa gaye hai, mohini ji ne jaldi aane ko kaha hai, jaldi se niche aa jana, hum dusro ko ek baar check kar lete hai Prerna nods, while Veena leaves. After half an hour, all of them were in Basu Badi. They are welcomed by moloy and mohini. They all meet other guests. While Prerna's eyes search for only one person ~ Anurag Basu. Mohini asks Prerna to come for Aarti. Anurag comes home from outside. Prerna turns over to see Shivani but notices Anurag coming and smile widely. The view in front of his eyes was breathe taking and he stopped. He was mesmerized to see Prerna in a simple red and green combination Bengali attire, necklace and earrings. Her hair with slight wavy curls adding some more beauty to her and a small green bindi completing her look. Seeing her smile at him he too smiled slightly.

Mohini was about to ask about his son to Debu Da but stopped when she saw him ready near the door. He was looking handsome in a blue design kurta and white pyjama. His hairs were set properly and a big dial watch on his hand, completing his look. Mohini called him and asked Anurag and Prerna to perform Aarti together after the priest. All the members gather near the idol with the priest in front of them, next the would be bride and groom followed by them. The priest chanted some mantras and Anupre move forward to do the pooja. After the pooja is finally over, Anupre get seated on the dias while the other guests are in the hall, where the priest apply tika to both of them on their foreheads. The priest asks Mohini to get the gift which has to be given to Prerna. She nods and stares at Nivedita, in order to ask her bring. She nods and goes and bring a wide jewellery box. While Shivani and Prerna asks about the importance of the ritual. "On an auspicious day this ritual is performed by seeking the blessings from the goddess and the elders of the family. The groom's side go to bless the bride and vice versa, by sprinkling husked rice and trefoil leaves on their heads and giving them gold ornaments. It is a kind of acceptance of the boy and the girl on both sides", explains the priest. The sisters nod. Mohini smiles seeing Prerna's interest in knowing the importance of a Bengali ritual and looks at moloy who is all smile just like his wife. Anurag stares at Prerna for a while then his trance is broken by priest's voice who asks Veena to bring the gift. She nods and opens her purse only to remove a black box just like how we get for watches. Nivedita and Veena handover the boxes to the priest. And he is about to start the ritual when suddenly Prerna questions him and Mohini about the husked rice and trefoil leaves are nowhere to be seen, if they are performing the ritual with out them. Mohini nods and says Yes, absolutely right. I don't want to trouble my daughter with all those things. When this ritual can be performed with out them, then why not. Prerna smiles slightly. Then the priest handover the box to moloy and asks him to give to his would be daughter - in - law. He does the same while Prerna doesn't accept it. He asks her the reason. She says Prerna - I already got a gift when you all came to see me and I know I am accepted by you all, so I won't accept it. Moloy (comes near her and whispers in her ear) - it's just a formality in front of guests, you take this Prerna - lekin,... Moloy (loudly) - kya ek baap apni beti ko gift bhi nahi de sakta ? While everyone looks shocked at them while Rajesh and Veena smile proudly. Prerna - haan de sakte hain, lekin... Moloy - lekin kya ? Kya main tumhara baba nahi hoon ? Prerna - haan, aap ho Moloy - toh yeh tofah lelo, varna mai samajh jaaunga ki tum yeh dil se nahi bol rahi ho Prerna immediately accepts the gift. Everyone smile and asks her to open the gift. She opens the box and sees a gold waist chain.

She utters lovely, thank you so much. Anurag smiles seeing her happy. Then the priest handover the jewellery box to Rajesh and asks him to give it to Anurag and he accepts it and thanks Rajesh for accepting him. He opens the box to see a gold bracelet.

Anurag hugs him saying it's lovely and asks him to help him wear. Rajesh helps Anurag wear it and whispers slowly asking him to thank Prerna after all it's her choice. Anurag looks at Rajesh then at Prerna. After wearing he shows his hand to everyone. Nivedita and Tapur insists Prerna to wear the waist chain too. She doesn't agree but Veena sends her in a room with Shivani. Nivedita and Tapur thank Veena. She smile. Prerna and Shivani come inside the room and lock it. Shivani teases her sister. Shivani - kya di, kitne nakhre dekhate ho aap ? Prerna - matlab ? Shivani (while sitting on the bed starts saying happily but earning a warning glare from her sister she elaborates the name due to fear) - Anuraaaagggg, (Prerna stares at her angrily), ........., I mean jiju ko dekha hai, kitne sweet hai, kitne cute hai. Kisi ko upset nahi karte aur aap ! Prerna asks her to help wearing the waist chain and Shivani lazily walks upto her and helps her wear it. She arranges the chain first. Prerna (demands) - bata, main kya ? Shivani - aap na nakhre dekha rahe the dias pe Prerna - nakhre ? (Pointing her index finger towards herself) Main ? Konse nakhre ? Shivani - aap ko gift itne pyaar se mil raha hai kyun ki unhone aap ko accept kiya, aur aap ho ki mana kar rahe ho. Mai hoti toh mana nahi karti. Aap gift lekar yeh jata dete ki aap bhi unko accept kar rahe ho Prerna - kya ! Tu pagal hai Shivi. Unhone mujhe pehle hi accept kar liya aur mujhe uska gift bhi mila. Ek gold coin. Aur mujhe yeh sab nahi chahiye. Shivani - done ! Prerna - haan ? Shivani - chain ki baat kar rahi thi. Vaise bhi you continue Prerna makes a annoying face and continue her talk with her sister. Prerna - all I need is love ! Mujhe sirf unka pyaar chahiye. Suddenly there's a knock on the door. Prerna and Shivani stare each other.
