A month and a half later
"How do your flowers always come out so perfect?" Claire asked me. Since being in training for a while me and Claire had grown way closer. I was so excited training was over in a couple of weeks, I wanted to go out and experience the real world.
"What can I say it's......in my blood." I started cracking up at what I thought was a great pun but Claire stared at me as if I was crazy. She just doesn't get humor does she?
" That joke was pathetic." She said
"Almost like your flowers...." I mumbled under my breath.
"What was that, Sandra?" She asked me with a serious expression on her freckled face.
"Oh nothing anyways we better get back underground before Ms. Melrose finds out we've..." I stopped talking when I saw Claire looking out at the city.
"In two weeks we'll be out there on our own having to forge for ourselves and survive for our lives." She said really serious.
"You make it sound like we're on a reality surviving show Claire, it's not like we'll ever lose touch with the other Elements, plus new Elements are always coming." I told her.
"Yeah but it's not so easy for Earths, we barely got anybody in our group, we have the rarest blood type and I'm worried soon there won't be any new ones left." She had a major point. Before I could respond Claire saw something in the bushes and immediately chased after it. I chased after her only to have something blaze past my ear.
I looked to my left at an arrow that was now wedged in a tree, that is so not cool. Trees are living things too! Finally realization struck me, arrow, bow, bow and arrow, hunter, HUNTERS! I needed to get out of there but I also needed to find Claire. It was too late though because jumping out of the tree opposite of where I was standing was a tall guy around my age with blond hair and dark grey eyes, but the thing I mainly focused on was the quiver on his back and the bow in his hand.
" Stay away!" I ordered. He began to laugh at me though, great
"Ha me stay away. Listen Element I can do whatever I want unlike you. I don't have to listen to you. Now, if you'll excuse me." He said. I flinched at most of his words. He started walking towards and I made sure to always be facing towards him. He plucked the arrow from the tree and walked away.
'Wait," I said in a low voice but apparently loud enough for him to here because he whipped around to look at me. "Why didn't you hurt me."
"Is that what you Elements have been taught to think of us? Evil. Well we're not OK, we only hunt the magical creature that threaten this world. I'm not going to hurt you or any other of you stupid Elements. If you want to know the real enemies go talk to a human, show them your powers, tell them who and what you are, say there's more of you. Then tell me who's the enemy, Sandra," By now I was utterly shocked. What really scared me though was that he knew my name. "Well bye, oh and your friend is about uh, a couple miles from here, she stopped near a road.
"How....." But he was already gone. I don't know why but I believed every word he said. He didn't hurt me which me even more confused about it. Had they lied to me before? Were Hunters really not that bad? Would humans really become my enemy? Before I could think about anything else a note fell it said:
Meet me here again tomorrow for more answers.
Especially if you want to know about your brother.
~Magnus (The Hunter)
I don't know who this guy was but he knew something about my brother that I didn't and I was going to figure it out. Then I remembered something, Claire.
