it was the first day of winter.

it was also the first time sunoo had to walk home from school alone, without anyone else beside him. he always had jungwon with him, but he had been hospitalized due to his severe sickness. he notice it coming anyway, jungwon had always been sick.

‎

the temperature outside is literally freezing, as sunoo couldn't feel the usual warmth of jungwon's hands in his, it's a habit of him, to hold hands with jungwon whenever they walk down the streets to and fro home.

‎

sunoo had his both hands tucked into the pockets containing heat packs in his long padded jacket. he was walking home from school, which took a pretty long time since he intentionally took the longer route home. he really can't feel himself today, it felt very dark and sorrowful without his ray of happiness.

‎

he could feel himself tumbling, he felt weak, very weak. he could feel the heavy weight in his eyes, waiting to be released so bad. he was never the crybaby type of person, unless it is related to his personal life and feelings. sunoo loved jungwon, because no one else would treat him better other than him.

besides, his parents don't really give a damn either, all they do is provide all the needs and cash, love was never really given to them. it sucks to be honest.

"urk...uh..."

sunoo fell down on his knees beside a wooden bench, he couldn't contain his feelings too long, he never imagined how painful being alone is, and now he is feeling all of this. he didn't knew he was that weak when he's all alone.

‎

he didn't even know how many meters have he walked through, he was really worried of jungwon, who is going to have his surgery today. not that he isn't allowed to visit jungwon, he didn't even know which hospital he went to.

‎

if only it wasn't that cold, he would really have spent the whole day outside and rather not stay put in his house with his parents just sitting together in front of the tv holding hands all the time, it was really frustrating to see how they didn't really give a damn to them.

‎

although sunoo is definitely freezing, his hot and warm tears kept him to stay put, well for god knows how long he has been kneeling there. he kept sobbing, and whispers to himself that jungwon is gonna be fine, he knows how strong he is, jungwon is a very strong boy.

‎

all that's left is dried tears on his pale smooth face, which also had made his eyes all swollen because of how hard he cried. he suddenly felt a warm touch landed on his hunched shoulders. seriously, he thought he was gonna fight some people, who knows.

‎

"are you okay?"

he knew that voice, somehow sounding kinda familiar even though it would be impossible to imagine that one specific person he had in mind. or maybe, it was the other way round?

‎

"oh, sunoo?"

ah. of course it was him, who would've had guessed right? sunoo didn't expect he took this road to go back home, interesting.

‎

"sunoo, what are you doing here, you'll definitely freeze here."

‎

he didn't care, he doesn't need anyone to worry of him, he really wasn't the type to worry anyone ever. all he wants is just a nice warm hug, doesn't matter from who, he's just really desperate for a warm hug. his sad and weak heart needs some kind of reassurance, that everything will certainly be okay.

"sunghoon hyung..."

he was hesitant at first, but he knows how sunghoon is, he would never resist things like these. he was literally the school's angel, really kind and humble, no wonder everyone can't stop talking about him.

‎

it all starts with a slow move, until sunoo had stood up and wrapped his arms around sunghoon's waist. he really needed the comfort, the warmth, everything nice that would make him feel safe, reassured.

‎

sunghoon was beyond surprised, but he didn't mind it, he noticed sunoo's face smudged with his dry tears, he sees it all.

‎

from a very surprising and awkward hug, turns into a daily routine of free hugs for sunoo. it was also a win for sunghoon because it really felt as if they had never bickered at school before, well, sunoo was kind of stubborn so these things happens sometimes. from random coincidence turns to scheduled meetings, they were there for each other when sunoo needs it the most.

little did sunoo knew, sunghoon was severely in pain.
