It was her first day on a college campus and Jennie was beyond excited. She has been dreaming of this very moment where she goes to the same college with her best friends, drinks till she pukes in college parties, has an amazing roommate who could potentially be her new friend and meets her future wife. And, yes, she said wife.
"I can't believe you and Chaeng are dormmates!" Jennie whines with a tiny huff with Jisoo chuckling from the phone that's pressed against her ear.
"It's a college miracle." Jennie rolls her eyes with a playful smile as she continues to roll her suitcase down the hall to her new dorm room. Apparently Jisoo and Chaeyoung went behind Jennie's back and immediately signed up to dorm in the same room. And, when they told her, they expected Jennie to look betrayed. Instead, however, she sent teasing smirks. She did not mind at all.
"But hey! At least you'll be meeting someone new!" Jisoo happily adds, laughing lightly to what Chaeyoung said from the background. Jennie couldn't help but giggle and wiggle her eyebrows teasingly,
"Someone sounds super, duper excited to be rooming with her future wife. Don't forget, you girls have neighbors so you can't be too loud."
Jisoo hisses, "Shut up and text me when you get there."
Before Jennie even had a chance to say, 'don't be pervert,' or 'try not to gawk too much when Chaeng changes,' the line went dead.
Jennie laughs quietly to herself while shoving her phone into her pocket. Those two girls were the definition of dense. They had yet to realize that feelings were indeed reciprocated, she thought to herself as her feline, brown eyes scanned each passing dorm number.
"52, 53, 54...." She mumbled under hear breath. And, standing in front of her door, she closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. She was excited to meet someone new, yes, but she was also very much nervous to meet someone new.
Her nerves had her thoughts running wild. What if they were mean? or, What if they were so kind that she ended up looking mean?
She pulled her bottom lip between her teeth as she nervously placed her dorm key into the door, hesitating. She puffed out a breath of air through her lips,
"Come on Jennie, you can do this," She quietly self motivated, "She can't be that bad. Who knows, maybe she's nice..."
"You have to twist the key for it to unlock."
Jennie yelped in surprise and turned to the source of the sound, only for her already racing heart to double it's rhythm to the point she was sure her heart was ready to break through her bones.
The black haired girl standing beside her was incredibly beautiful that it felt way too illegal, Jennie thought to herself as she couldn't help but wander her eyes up and down the girls slender figure.
Tall and slender, when was that ever Jennie's type? Jennie use to go for girls that were the same height as herself because she did not like being towered over. But just maybe, this girl could be an exception.
The smaller brunette could feel her knees buckle from the sight of the girls eyes that was barely shown from under her cute bangs. She had pretty doe eyes to be exact. Her eyes was a deep shade of brown and so unreadable as they stared blankly at Jennie.
Oh, how she hoped she wasn't blushing or showing her soul through her gawking eyes because, if the girl were able to see through the window of Jennie's mind, all the stranger would see was a girl screaming at how plump her lips looked or how cute the strangers button nose looked.
These were the moments where Jennie was grateful that she preferred females.
"Well, are you going to open the door?" Gosh, even her voice sounded like sweet sweet se— open the door Jennie!
"Oh! R-Right, so sorry," Jennie stammered, ripping her eyes away from an actual goddess and twisting the key so hard that she hoped it didn't chip. And, feeling those deep brown eyes burning the side of her face had her cheeks burning. She's way too gay to stay sane under those curious stares.
"Are you my new dormmate?" Jennie squeaked, opening the door in a haste and rolling her suitcase inside and hissing as her hips bumped into the wall nearly causing her to almost fall flat on her face. Smooth Kim, very smooth.
She could hear the girl following suit more elegantly than herself. Let's face it, everything about the taller girl screamed elegance. Even the way she was putting her long, black hair into a high pony tail. Her jaw looked so sharp and Jennie wondered if her finger would cut if she traced it.
The brunette looked away. If she stared any longer she most likely would flat line.
"Yes."
Cold.
Yet, Jennie was swooning.
Jennie nodded while seating herself down on the edge of her bed that was right across from the model looking girl,
"Cool, I'm Jennie." Jennie awkwardly and stiffly lifted her hand and waved with an equally stiff, wavering grin. Really? A wave? How uncool and lame could you be? Jisoo raised you better than this!
Without taking a glance at Jennie, however, she responded in the most nonchalant, uncaring, bored tone that Jennie would have felt defeated if it weren't for the fact that the girl was talking to her. This beauty was speaking to her.
"Lisa." She said while throwing her bag on the bed and opening it. Her back was facing Jennie as she was rummaging through her bag and sinfully and naturally, Jennie looked a little lower than intended. She's just admiring her long hair, nothing else.
With a shake of her head and a clearing of a throat, Jennie smiled,
"It's nice to meet you Lisa. And I hope we can get a long. If you ever need anything don't be afraid to ask and if I ever do anything that bothers you feel free to tell me that I suck. Not that I do suck, I'm gay..." Jennie's eyes widened while Lisa only took a short glance her way before looking through her bag again. Jennie forces out a loud laugh that had Lisa's eyebrows furrowing together.
"N-Not that you ever asked, or needed to ask. I just meant that I'm not a terrible person. I'm told that I'm a cool person. N-Not that I'm conceited or anything. I'm quite humble in a non condescending way." Lisa simply nodded and Jennie was wishing a car would drive through and run her over which would leave her to have amnesia because then, she would forget she ever said all that.
"I'm going out," Lisa said, grabbing her wallet and shoving it into her purse. Jennie forced out a wide smile. It was so wide that her cheeks might just rip.
"Okay cool! I hope you have a good rest of your—."
Lisa closed the door and Jennie turned around and practically belly flopped on the bed, screaming into her pillow and kicking her legs like a damn child. But then, a clearing of a throat was made and Jennie froze, face still pressed into her pillow,
"Forgot my phone."
Jennie sent a thumbs up, refusing to lift her face up and face her embarrassment.
"Coolio."
Footsteps could be heard before a sound of a closed door and Jennie flipped over with a face that resembles a tomato.
She repeatedly slapped her forehead, "Coolio? Really Jennie? Gosh, who says that?" She mumbled while reaching for her phone in her pocket to send a message to Jisoo after letting out an exaggerated deep sigh.
Me: It's official...
Chu: What's official?
Me: My dormmate officially hates me...
