He was introduced as an SM Rookie on December 18, 2015. Although he was on the Chinese Version of NCT U's "Without You", he wasn't inducted into NCT until the release of NCT 2018 Empathy. He was revealed to be the leader of WayV, NCT's Chinese sub-unit, on December 31, 2018. WayV debuted on January 17, 2019. In NCT U, he is part of the following songs:
