"Fuck."
Bre sat on the ground, desk parts marking the sea around her. She had spent the last two hours trying to put together the desk for her computer, only to fail miserably.
She hadn't accomplished anything other than puncturing the skin between her thumb and index finger.
why the hell is this so hard was a running mantra in her head.
"Do you need help yet?" called her father from the kitchen. Bre had denied his help when the desk first arrived, she'd wanted to prove , mostly to herself, that she could build a piece of IKEA furniture. But as it turns out, she can't.
"YES FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE!"
Chucking, her dad stroller into the room. "Have you even looked at the instructions or are you 'vibing it'," as he settled into place in the sea of desk parts.
Bre huffed, "No. I looked at them. But it's all letters and numbers, my ADHD brain can't handle this".
Her dad just kinda looked at her, probably asking himself why the hell his daughter was so stupid. "You go do something else, I'll handle the desk. I don't want your whining."
Bre stuck her tongue out at him, before slow like rising on wobbly legs to walk to the kitchen and eat a snack.
I'm fucking hungry...
- It had been only thirty minutes when she came back into her room to check on her dads progress of the desk.
As she walked over the doors threshold, she froze, "What the actual fuck."
The desk stood in the middle of the room, completely built and stable. Her father sat on her bed, scrolling on his phone, "it wasn't even that hard, you're just stupid."
She starred at him, dumb founded, "I hate you. I absolutely, 100% hate you right now. HOW THE FUCK DID YOU DO THAT?"
