And the queen
takes off her crown;
says she will be
better without
all of the lies,
and all of the weight.
She leaves her king
and closes the gate.
The village is
unfamiliar,
although poverty
isn't new to her.
She is used to
living in the palace:
first as a servant,
then dressed in lace.
The king is not
at all a bad man,
but he is not
what she had in plan.
So she will wander
away from home,
into a world
quite unknown.
