The queen found
home in a nearby cove,
made friends with
a sweet little dove,
and sang away her
mornings and afternoons.
She knew in the village,
they behaved like loons.
Queen felt bad, for her
old almost-husband –
they had not wed;
she still called him friend.
But the weight of the world
would only bring her down,
it was true, so she let the
dove fly off with her crown.
Days later, she awoke
and knew she needed further away,
and so she ran again, looking
for a new place to stay.
