And the queen

takes off her crown;

says she will be

better without

all of the lies,

and all of the weight.

She leaves her king

and closes the gate.

The village is

unfamiliar,

although poverty

isn't new to her.

She is used to

living in the palace:

first as a servant,

then dressed in lace.

The king is not

at all a bad man,

but he is not

what she had in plan.

So she will wander

away from home,

into a world

quite unknown.
