As they got to Nevada Dean pulled into a motel. It was late at night when they got gotten there so Sam was asleep in his seat and Jack was asleep on Cas in the back. Cas, who didn't need sleep, was awake in the back reading a book over Jack's head. "Do you wanna toss the sleeping boys in a room together? Or I take Sammy and you take Jack?" Dean asked in a raspy low voice.
Cas softly closed his book and set it somewhere where it wouldn't bug the sleeping nephilim who was peacefully sleeping below him. "It would be easier to get these two a room. I can carry Jack but I think you need to wake Sam." Jack was small and easy to carry. Neither of them wanted to attempt to lift the sleeping giant in the front seat. Dean got a devilish grin on his face before clicking Sam's seatbelt so it was no longer on him. With that, he slides out of the impala and sauntered to Sam's side. The sleeping man had his full body weight pressed against the window of the passenger seat. Cas saw what was about to happen and covered Jack's ears. The hunter slowly brought his hand to the door and pulled the handle just enough to hear the click but not enough to open the door. After doing that he simply let go and quickly backed up as he watched his little brother tumble out of the car onto the cold concrete.
"Agh!" He quickly jumped up after falling out of the car before turning to his brother who was laughing so hard he had to clutch his stomach and lean against baby for support. "Dean!" Sam roared. Cas tried not to laugh as Jack could stay asleep in his lap. He carefully clipped their seatbelts off and slide out from under him so he could work on getting him into a real bed. He stretched a bit as they had spent a long time in the car. Instead of Cas getting Jack out of the car Sam stepped over and asked if he could grab him. "I got him Cas, we are the ones sharing a room right? I won't wake him." Sam scooped Jack up in his arms with ease as if the half-angel weighed nothing. Which, to Sam, he probably didn't. Dean had gone to get rooms so he could toss them keys to the room. They got two rooms next to each other so they wouldn't be too far away in case of an emergency. Even though one was unlikely to happen as they weren't on a hunt. But at the same time, the Winchesters were all probably on some monster blacklist. If such a thing existed.
Sam made his way to the room he was sharing with the boys in his arms. In his sleep, Jack slightly clung to Sam's shirt. He hoped the boy wasn't having one of his nightmares. As they entered the room, the older of the two got the nephilim into his respective bed. Sam took off Jack's shoes and jacket so he would be more comfortable. Afterward, he stripped off his own layers and shoes so he could get into bed. He didn't understand how Dean could drive for so long without falling asleep. That was why he was the driver and none of them. That and the fact that it was his car and he hardly let any of them drive it as it is. No way in hell was Dean going to trust his precious baby in the hands of his family. Sam would have fallen asleep at the wheel, Cas barely knew how to drive and certainly didn't know all the rules of the road, Jack had only driven once and it was when he and Dean were alone on the road. Dean considered himself the only good driver and wouldn't give up the responsibility of the designated driver. Sam chuckled at the thought of Dean going on and on about why he is the driver and why he is better than anyone else. Sam laid in bed looking up at the ceiling. His lanky body almost too big for the small motel bed. He thought about the screwed up family he ended up being in. He thought about when he and Dean were little.
"I am gonna live in a big house!" Young Sam said as he looked at Dean, almost as if he had stars in his eyes as he looked at his older brother. "A big house, and it will be all mine. No more motels! A room for me and a room for you." He smiled at the thought.
Teenage Dean just smiled and ruffled his younger brother's hair. "A place of our own. We won't worry about a thing. Not dad, not monsters, not dumb teachers. Just us Sammy. You and me against the world. Maybe a couple of hot chicks!" He laughed he added the last part which made Sam's nose scrunch up.
