What the hell is Remnant?

You find yourself standing in a dark void. All alone, darkness surrounds you.
You then start hearing voices, specifically two men having a conversation.

The first mans voice was very raspy, and he slightly slurred his words together.

Unknown : Oz, what are we gonna do with 'em? He severed the connection, we can't just send him back on his merry way! What if he tells someone?

The second man, now known as "Oz", his voice was a lot more smooth and very professional, he kind of sounded like a librarian.

"Oz": There is no need to worry, Qrow. We shall keep a close eye on him, and make sure he doesn't leave school grounds.

The voices begin to fade out, and the "void" you are in becomes a lot brighter.

You slowly open your eyes and are blinded by a bright white light. As you blink a few times to become adjusted to your surroundings, you realize you are in what appears to be a hospital room. You could tell from the strong scent of cleaning products.

You look around the room and observe your surroundings, it appears to be a totally normal hospital.

You slowly get up out of your bed and feel a sharp pain in your left shoulder. You quickly look at your shoulder and realized it was covered in bandages.

You then start to walk towards the window to try to get some sense of where you are, you drag the IV stand behind with tubes connecting you to the the stand. You look outside and realize... well, that it sure isn't anywhere back home.

You see what appears to be a school grounds,  trees with dark red leaves dotted along the pathways.

Out of nowhere, you hear a loud whooshing sound and see... something, coming over the horizon.

At first, it appears to be a cargo plane, but with much more advanced technology, then you realize it is something much more different.

(Y/N): Man... I don't know what they gave me, but this looks like some shit from Star Wars.

Then, you hear the whirring sound of the automatic door behind you opening, with a beautiful woman walking in.

This woman appeared to be in her early 40's. She had beautiful curly blonde hair, with a pair of reading glasses sat upon the bridge of her nose. She was wearing a white long sleeve with a cut out, that exposed her cleavage, she also had a navy miniskirt with a black corset, as well as a pair of tights and a pair of boots with heels on them. She also had a... purple cape? Ok, that's odd

Unknown: Oh my, you're finally awake!

(Y/N): Uh... who the hell are you? And where the hell am I?

Unknown: Oh, yes! My name is Glynda Goodwitch, as for your location, you are in the medical wing of Beacon Academy.

(Y/N): Um... ok. Where is Beacon exactly?

Glynda: You really don't know? This is the famous Huntsmen Academy in Vale.

(Y/N): Vale? Where in the world is Vale?

Glynda: You don't even know about Vale?! It's starting to sound like you aren't even from Remnant!

(Y/N): Um... you're gonna hate me for this one lady... What the hell is Remnant?

Glynda: Oh for the love of the gods...

(Y/N): Do you just have some kinda map or something?

Glynda: Here, does any of this look familiar?

She pulls out a device, that looks like a phone, but it is see through. She then presses a few buttons, and pulls up a map. It looks like completely new land.

(Y/N): Huh... these must be pretty small islands. I've never seen them before.

Glynda: Actually, this is a world map.

You stare at her in disbelief.

(Y/N): What the hell... First, I see some girl fly and shoot lightning out of her hands, and now I'm not even on Earth!

(Y/N): ...WAIT! The girl! Where is she!?

Glynda: Um, what girl?

(Y/N): Don't bullshit me lady! I heard "Oz" and some Drunk talking about her! Where is sh-

You are cut off by Glynda pulling out a riding crop, and freezing you with it.

(Y/N): Hey! What the hell is going on!!

Glynda pulls out the device again and dials a number.

Glynda: Professor... he remembers. You might want to come down here.

Glynda moves her riding crop as you began to float in air, still frozen, then are lowered on the bed.

Glynda: I'm sorry young man.

As she continues to point her riding crop at you, you try your best to break from her grasp, but to no avail.

After a couple of minutes of struggling, a man comes through the door. He is of average height and build. He has light gray hair and is wearing a sleek, dark green suit. He wore a pair of round glasses, and had a cane in his left hand, and a coffee mug in his right.

(Y/N): And who the hell are you!?

Ozpin: Hello, I am Professor Ozpin, the Headmaster of Beacon Academy. And you are?

(Y/N): I'm not telling you anything!!

Ozpin: You can trust us... Glynda, release him.

Glynda: But sir-

Ozpin: Do it.

Glynda: Yes sir.

She lowers her riding crop and you are unfrozen. You look at them both inquisitively.

Ozpin: See? I promise you, you can trust me.

After a few seconds of weighing the pros and cons of this... you give in.

(Y/N): The name's (L/N), (Y/N) (L/N)...

Ozpin: Well Mr. (L/N)... What is your favorite fairy tale?
