*Five minutes earlier in classroom 1-A*

While Iida always had announcements during homeroom as our class representative, today seemed to be the only day that everyone was seated and paying full attention to him.

"As I'm sure you all recall," he declared from the podium at the front of the room, "today is the day that the transfer student is expected to arrive and join our class."

"Although 1-A has only belonged to the twenty of us since the year started, we must embrace the transfer student with open arms and do our best to make them feel comfortable in this new environment."

Before he could usher in another word, Uraraka cut him off, waving her hand enthusiastically in the air. "Iida-kun, you keep saying 'them' over and over again. Do we not know if the transfer student is a boy or a girl?"

"Actually, no," he admitted with a shake of his head. "Sensei Aizawa didn't give any details about the identity of the st—"

"DEKUUUU!!!!" Uraraka shouted from the other side of the classroom. "Do you want the new student to be a boy or a girl?!?"

The rest of the class turned to face me, awaiting my response. I hadn't even considered it yet.

"I, umm... I think it's cool that we have a new student e-either way," I stammered, rubbing the back of my neck.

Out of habit, my eyes flickered to Kacchan as I listened for his reaction.

It was a quiet noise, but I heard him "tch" in front of me. He was seated in the same position he was every morning: feet on his desk with his hands over his head.

Hmm. Kacchan was usually silent every morning except for the occasional grunt here and there.

If I had managed to annoy him enough to make a sound, my response must've irritated him somehow. Not wanting to aggravate him this early in the day, I started to rephrase my answer when Mina interjected from the other side of the classroom.

"Are you kidding, Midoriya?!" she yelled loudly, slamming her hands down on the desk. "The transfer student is obviously going to be a girl."

Aoyama-kun turned around in his seat to face Mina with his chin resting in both hands, leaning onto her desk.

"Excusez-moi, but why do you assume the transfer student to be a girl?" he questioned curiously. "Pourquoi une fille rather than un garçon?"

As vice-president, Yaoyorozu earnestly chimed in from her regular spot behind Iida by the chalkboard.

"I believe Mina made that assertion in speculation of the gender ratio within the classroom," she stated matter-of-factly. "Since 70% of our class is male—creating an apparent disparity between boys and girls—it wouldn't be wrong to yearn for more female representation within 1-A."

"Yesssss," Mineta salivated from the desk behind me, "more female representation..."

As he stood in the aisle squeezing his hands in a perverted way, it became evident that he was slowly slipping away into fantasies about a female transfer student, muttering his desires out loud.

"...Mhmm... long legs with a... mhmm.. slim waist and some gigantic bo-MPHMF"

Before he could finish his sentence, Sero shot a piece of tape out of his elbow, covering Mineta's mouth and stopping his trail of drool that had finally reached the floor.
