Chapter 6

REINA'S POV

They've finally released me from the hospital. I feel so great especially since Niaomi and I have had a lot of time to spend with each other. We did spend a lot of time together while I was in the hospital, but that's not how I would like to treat my Queen. As Niaomi and I were walking out of the hospital I couldn't help myself from thanking her for staying by my side.

"I really appreciate you by my side through all of this."

"You don't have to keep thanking me. I understand your grateful, but you dont have to thank me every two minutes. Plus, why would I leave you when you need somebody the most?" She asked as we walked out the double doors.

"I'm just not used to a lot of people that aren't family sticking around for so long." I stated while we approached my aunt's car, but before I could prepare myself the devil popped out.

"Is that little Niya I see!" My mom yelled as she walked towards us. She loves Niaomi so much. How respectful and helpful she is. She never wanted me around her because she thought I was going to corrupt her.

"Hi Mrs. Mendoza." Niaomi said as nice and polite as ever. Before I could hold onto something so I didn't fall my mom grabbed Niaomi into a hug. I fell straight on my butt. The pain shot right through my back and a blood curdling scream let out my mouth.

''Little girl if you don't shut up I will put you back into that hospital!" After my mom said this a worried look spread across Niaomi's face. It was too late to think of a lie.

"Are you okay?" Niaomi asked me bending down to my level and helping me get up.

"I'm fine." I said snatching my arm away. I was embarrassed that my mom said that. I rushed into the car and sat there. My mom and Niaomi stayed outside and talked for a second, but Niaomi kept looking at me worried. All of a sudden she opened the door and sat by me.

"You okay sweetheart?" She said rubbing my head. I couldn't take all my anger out on her. She didn't deserve it, she was to sweet. My mom later jumped into the car and drove towards our house. As Niaomi helped me out of the car I was greeted by my cousins and my aunt.

"Aye Loco!" My cousins shouted in unison walking towards us. They hugged Niaomi and I. Niaomi started talking to my aunt and mom while my cousins walked me inside.

"So I see you and Ms. Bougie are getting closer." Juan and Pitbull laughed.

"She not bougie, so don't call her that." I snapped. There's something about her that just makes me want to hurt anyone that messes with her.

"My bad sis. I ain't know you like her." Juan said apologetically.

"Its all cool." After I said this Niaomi walked in with my mom and my aunt. Niaomi walked towards me with a beautiful smile like always.

"What do you want me to cook?" My mom asked as if she was the little perfect homemaker.

"Whatever you feel comfortable making ma."

"Girl who was talking to you? Nobody. Again, Niaomi what do YOU want to eat sweetheart?" Wow, she just checked me in front everybody. How disrespectful could she be.

"Um, maybe fried tacos? If that isn't to much of a hassle ma'am?" Niaomi said politely.

"No sweetheart, its never too much hassle when it comes too you." My mom stated. Why does she act like that? It hurts so bad. Her acting this way is emotionally and physically draining. I coudn't do it so I made my way towards the backyard where my cousins were.

"Reina hold up, let me help you." Niaomi said speed walking towards me. She grabbed my arm but I snatched it away.
