Chapter Five

Nicollete

“Let’s have drink in Line Arrow tonight, let’s celebrate” kumindat pa sa akin ang boss ko bago nito pinaharurot ang kotse nito.

He also granted me a three days’ vacation. He is a generous boss if you deserve it, that’s Finn Rivas. Gago nga lang.

Pagkapasok ko sa main door nagulat ako dahil may mga basag na flower vase na nagkalat, agad akong kinabahan I hurried myself to look for my parents or anyone. Mas rinig ko pa ang kaba sa dibdib ko kaysa mga yabag ko.

“Mom! Dad! Yaya!?? Mayette!!!!” my voice echoed the entire house. I can feel my body started to tremble.
Then I heard footsteps agad akong lumingon and I saw that Dad was hurriedly walking may hila itong maleta.

“Dad…” he halted his steps.

“Yes leave Lauro, it’s better without you…”my Mom suddenly discontinue when she saw me standing. Palipat-lipat ang tingin ko sa kanilang dalawa.

“What’s happening here?”
Peru walang sumagot sa kanila nakatayo lang sila doon looking like a breathing statue.

“So ganito na lang po ba tayo magtitigan?”

“Nicollete….” my Mom’s eyes was swollen maybe in too much crying.

“You wanted to leave po?” I gently ask my Dad looking straight to his eyes, I wanted to see how he badly wanted to leave. How he wanted to run away again like he did before.

“Magpapalamig lang ako Nicollete”  tumango ako, this is not new to me broken things, him leaving, Mom shouting and cursing like she mean everything she said.

I really thought that my mother is slowly accepting everything but I guess she haven’t yet, or maybe will not be forever.

My Dad started to walk pass by me,

“Don’t ever come back Lauro you better rot in hell asshole! cheater!” my mother shouted.

Hinayaan ko na lang muna siya magsisigaw, di ko alam ang dahilan bakit na naman sila nauwi sa ganito.

“Mayette!!” tawag ko sa katulong namin na agad naman lumapit.

“Clean the mess, let’s go Mom” hinawakan ko siya sa braso peru iniwaksi lang niya iyon.

“wag na wag mong papasukin ulet dito ang ama mo Nicollete” she angrily told me tumango lang ako peru I know for the fact that it will not me who will open the door for my father but her.

“can you please slowdown the night still young” Seb trying to snatch the shot glass away from my hand.

I scoffed at him.

“fuck off Sebastian, I wanna get drunk!” sabay inom sa alak. He  mumble something peru di ko yon pinansin. He should mind his own business nakita ko kanina ang babaeng kinabaliwan niya may naka akbay na iba.

“Adi you’re here” I heard Seb said at gumalaw ito sa kina-upuan, I was rooted there for a second. Shit! Nandito siya!

“You’re with someone?” I heard Adi asked sa kabila ng sobrang lakas ng music parang nag tone down lahat iyon at nakafocus na ang pandinig ko sa sagot ni Adrienne. I wanted to turn around to see how beautiful she is.

“I’m with Finn and Nicollete remember her?” Seb asked, I wanted to just disintegrate, I suddenly feel conscious how I look magulo ba ang buhok ko? Do I look fine? But since Seb mention me I don’t have a choice but to turn and look at Adi.

“Of course, wala akong memory gap Seb, hi Attorney fancy seeing you here” Adi said smiling and my heart melted, pakiramdam ko nag blush ako mabuti na lang disco lights ang ilaw.

“Hi Doc.” I simply said and smile damn!!! She’s so fucking hot and beautiful, elegant and graceful, sexy and sophisticated.

She laugh and I swear to God it was a music to my ears, malalang tama na talaga ito

“Let’s cut the formalities shall I call you Nicollete and you can call me Adi” she added and I nodded acting cool kahit ang gusto ko ng gawin ay sambahin siya.

“I have to go Tyrone is waiting for me, see you around” she said and leave and I heaved a deep sigh. Parang pinipigilan kong huminga nung nandito pa siya sa tabi ko.

“What’s that sigh?” ang chismoso talaga nitong si Sebastian.

“Nothing” sagot ko,

“You can tell her your feelings” he suggested and I just ignored him,

There are people who knows that I am a lesbian but not all and that includes my family. Marami pang problema sa pamilya ko at ayaw ko ng dumagdag pa.

We kept our silent from there. Sebastian may annoying all the time but he knows when to shut up, hanggang dumating yung boss kung gago na sobrang linis ng record sa media na pinagkamalan tuloy na bakla dahil di nag public ng ka date kahit kailan.

He’s with Quell Eldea, Berrde and Kenrix.

Berrde sat beside me.

“You seems troubled” komento agad nito.

“Family trouble” sagot ko and he didn’t probe anymore, he just drink his own shot.

Hanggang sa tingin ko tatlo na si Berrde sa tabi ko.

“I need to go to the rest room” paalam ko sa kanya, siya na lang naiwan sa tabi ko everyone is having their time with their own business---monkey business.

“Okay” he just nodded, ba’t kaya wala itong kalampungan ngayon by this time Berrde’s hands are already in different places in girls body peru di ito umalis sa tabi ko girls are flirting with him peru di ito umalis sa tabi ko ang weird lang niya.

When I’m done dahan-dahan lang ang lakad ko pabalik kasi nahihilo na din ako, when someone drag my waist causing me to fall my weight on the person who grab me.

“Hey there Samaniego, care to dance?” a smug face greet mine, and it’s not just someone whom I can kick balls without media lurking around.
It’s Byronne Alcantara, the President’s grandson and a complete asshole. Matalim ko siyang tiningnan.

“Let go of me Alcantara!” I said trying my best to get away from him, nanindig ang balahibo ko I wanted to vomit too. He grin like he enjoyed the struggle I made to get away from him.

“Not too fast Nicolette” he said mukhang lasing na din,

“You will regret this” I said dahil sukang suka na talaga ako but he hadn’t notice the changes of my facial expression.

Before I can push him hard, nauna nang bumuka ang bibig ko at diretso ang suka ko sa mukha niya.

“Fucking bitch!” he curse as he tried to wipe out the disgusting thing on his face. Before his hand can reach me someone grab me and it was Berrde.

“Fuck off Alcantara!” his face is stoic,

“I will kill that bitch!” that’s the last words I heard before I passed out.
