Summer at the Burrow

Chapter Five

Ginny pulled away from the kiss a few moments later. Ginny looked at Hermione who was shocked but was forming a small smile. She then looked at Luna who was still dozing in the grass. Then she looked up to her brothers and Harry. They were stunned. They were all staring at her. Ginny then started laughing.

Hermione looked at her, confused. Ginny noticed her confusion and pointed to her brothers. Hermione turned around and started laughing hysterically at the sight of their shocked and confused faces. The boys looked at them like they had gone mental. 

Luna woke up to the sound of their laughing. Luna got up and walked to Ginny and Hermione. "What happened?" She asked in a soft voice. After a few moments, Ginny collected herself and told Luna what happened. "That is quite funny." She giggled softly. "I think I can make them faint.," Before Ginny or Hermione could respond, Luna smashed her lips against Hermione's and made them both fall to the ground. After a few moments, Luna pulled away. All three of them looked up to the boys and could not contain their laughter.

Ron and Harry had nearly fallen off of their brooms and the twins seemed to have frozen in the air. Charlie had a puzzled look on his face and Bill was laughing along with the girls. The whole thing was quite amusing.

The rest of the day passed slowly. The girls went stayed at the hill, sleeping, reading, playing with hair, talking, and kissing (Mostly on Luna and Ginny's part). The boys had understood that it was a prank and went on with quidditch although gave the occasional glance at Ginny and Luna's snogging.

Before dinner, the girls decided to pack up. As they did, Harry walked up to them. "Hey Hermione, can I talk to you?" He asked, looking at the ground. "Sure!" Hermione said and got up and guided him to the back of the tree. "What's up?"

Harry looked at her like she was mad. "What's up? Hermione you just kissed Luna and Ginny and then laughed like a mad man. What was that all about?"

"Harry we only kissed so you guys could stop giving me looks but I guessed that plan failed."

Harry looked at the ground. As Hermione was about to walk away, Harry pulled her arm. "Wait, are you into witches?" He asked.

Hermione thought for a minute. "Let's just say I prefer wizards with the occasional witch." Hermione winked at him and then walked off.  

Harry walked back over to the Weasley brothers, who were all in a crowd, watching Hermione and the girls back up their picnic.

"So?" Ron asked as Harry approached him. "So?" Harry shot back. Ron rolled his eyes. "So what did she say?" He asked. Harry shrugged.

"She said that she likes wizards with the occasional witch," All the boys let out a sigh of relief. Bill just chuckled. "My my you guys really have fallen head over heels for that witch," He said laughing as his brothers gave him dirty looks. "Just be careful. I read the Daily Prophet and it looks like you guys aren't the only ones with a crush." He said and then walked off, leaving his brothers confused and angry.

At dinner, Ginny officially came out to her family. "That's great Ginny. No boy would ever be good enough for you." Said Mrs. Weasley as she was serving dinner. "And Luna is a lovely girl."

As they were eating dinner, Mrs. Weasley handed Hermione a stack of cards. "Here you go, dear. I expect more will come." 

Hermione looked through some of the names. They all seemed to come from boys asking her to the ball. "Just what I need." She said as she put the stack of letters underneath her chair.
