{•------» bakugo's birthday! «------•}
it was nearly 7pm, april 20th. your heart was racing as you checked the game again to make sure everything was in place, and then you checked the box underneath your bed. it had bakugo's gift in it, and next to it was a smaller box with two muffins inside (sato had helped you bake them last night, and you were incredibly thankful he'd stayed up an hour extra to help out).
today hadn't been the most fun for you today. because you'd stayed up all night preparing for bakugo's birthday, you'd only managed to have a few hours of sleep, and even when you did have time, you were unable to fall asleep. because of this, you'd been unable to focus properly in classes, and you'd almost got yourself killed against robots in the quirk-training exercise aizawa had set up. two of your fingers were in bandages, healing from the accident - despite recovery girl's efforts, they were still a little painful.
bakugo, of course, had received a few gifts in private from people like midoriya, kirishima and kaminari, but as you'd expected, he didn't talk about it at all. he just acted normal and pretended it was like every other day.
on your minecraft world, you'd baked a cake, dyed and sheered a bunch of sheep to get some orange and black wool, and using that, you created a big 'happy birthday' sign in the sky. you'd also made a few banners in the game, decorating the almost-finished house. sighing to yourself, you prayed bakugo would like it, even just a little bit.
"oi, dumbass, open the door."
you almost fell off your bed as you scrambled to the door of your dorm, recognising bakugo's voice instantly as you pulled it open. a wide smile appeared on your face as he walked in, his hands stuffed in his pockets as he flopped onto the edge of your bed, surprised to see the game already open. however, it was simply on the opening screen, so he didn't know you'd done some decorating.
"happy birthday, katsuki," you smiled, plopping down next to him as you pulled the two gift boxes from underneath your bed. you noticed his eyes widen slightly in surprise as you passed him the larger of the two, and it took him a minute to realise he was meant to open it.
inside was a rather expensive all might figure, with a bar of his favourite chocolate underneath (you knew he liked it after seeing him buy it once on a day out). a small smile appeared on his face for a second, but he quickly changed back to his angry-self and scowled, putting it next to him as if it was nothing. but he kept glancing towards it every so often, so you knew he liked it.
"how... how much did that cost?" he asked finally, and you cocked your head. "are you deaf, dumbass? i asked-"
"why does that matter?" you chuckled, raising an eyebrow. it was... somewhat sweet that he cared more about how much you'd spent on him than his own birthday, and you couldn't help but grin. "now you can go boast to deku about how cool your all might figurine is."
