The Slytherin Heiress- Draco Malfoy

Chapter 4

I was pacing around the hall, ready to enter the big doors. I was able to hear everything from inside. I heard about a hundred names being called and getting sorted into their respective house. I couldn't wait anymore. I can't say I was a very patient person so waiting around like this was not my favorite thing. But then, I heard Dumbledore start speaking, silencing the students.

"Now that our first years have been sorted, I am proud to announce you all that this year we are joined by a very important new student. She has come a long way. And she is no ordinary student either. Dear Hogwarts, as of tonight, we will be joined by none other than the descendant of Salazar Slytherin himself, Aspen Serpentine. "

The huge doors opened, revealing the Great Hall to my curious eyes. Students from all houses were staring at me. From a subtle and quick glance I was already able to tell the order of the houses sorted at the tables. Starting from my left, the far table was Hufflepuff. Bright yellow colors. The next one, was clearly Gryffindor as I've also spotted Harry and his two other friends. Yeah. The ones that ditched me once they've heard who my family was. The next table, next to the Gryffindors, were obviously the Slytherins. Those emerald green ties could be spotted from miles away. And at last, there was Ravenclaw.

I walked in gracefully, between the Gryffindor table and the Slytherin. Even though I was freaking out on the inside, I learned how to mask this trait of mine on the outside. I appeared as confident as I could be while walking up to the stool that had the sorting hat on it. My father told me a lot of stuff about Hogwarts so I knew how things work.

While I was making my way to the lady that was now holding the hat, I could feel a wave of whispers going off into the Great Hall. All eyes on me, this was a mixed feeling. On one hand I loved the attention, on the other hand however, I couldn't stand it. I felt so trapped under all the eyes. As if every move that I made had to be calculated, otherwise I might mess up and they would start laughing.

After I have finally made my way to the stool, I sat down on it, the lady placing the sorting hat onto my head.

" Ohhh. Looks like we have the Slytherin princess here with us. But where to put you? It would be only fair if you get in Slytherin but after all, I need to put you based on what abilities you have not what ancestry you have. Hmm. You show quite a few qualities Ravenclaw would cherish. What about Gryffindor? You show a heart of a lion from what I see. Ahh. But no no no, no. It is all here. The determination is topping all of the other qualities. It is a clear answer. "

A few minutes of silence followed, me waiting anxiously on the stool.

" SLYTHERIN" The table on my left cheered so loudly and almost everybody got up from their seats to clap with so much enthusiasm as if they won the house cup or something. I jumped from my stool and sat down next to a blonde girl that waved me over.

" Hi. I'm Daphne. I am so happy you got sorted into our house. You will love it here." She seemed really nice. Although, I could distinctively notice a slight tone of attitude and pride. But again, that's how almost all pureblood heirs are.

" Aspen. Pleasure to meet you." I said shortly. I was so happy, finally I was all sorted and now I could enjoy some exquisite meals. I didn't even care to look around the table to get used to my future classmates, as my hunger took over my curiosity.

I had been eating in silence for a few minutes when someone called my name. I lifted my head and noticed a boy with blonde hair. Reminds me of that Lucius guy. Wait.. Is that.. Maybe?

" Oi new girl. I am Draco Malfoy. But I suppose you already knew that didn't you?" He then turned to his friends and laughed, urging them involuntarily to laugh as well.

I was already pissed off by this guy. Already talking like that to me as if I'm supposed to know him?

" I could say the same. Clearly you know all about me as I've heard our fathers have been very close friends during their school years." I answered quickly. I wasn't in the mood for conversation. Just wanted to go to my dorm and sleep.

He probably noticed my uninterested face so he decided to leave it and turn to his peers.

After the feast was over, we were directed to our dorms by none other than our prefects. To my luck, Draco was one of them. He directed us to the dungeons, where I knew our chambers lied. We entered through a door, only after giving the password which was pureblood. How original.

"Girls dorms on the left, boys on the right. Breakfast starts at 6:30 and ends at 8 o'clock." He said it hurriedly as if he wasn't in the mood for explaining anything. I ran up the stairs to the girls dormitories, wondering which dorm was mine. Daphne appeared at my side and dragged me with her.

" You're sharing a dorm with me, Pansy and Millicent." She said excitedly, dragging me to our designated dorm.

Once I entered, I noticed how our bags have already been brought in. I saw mine in the middle, above my bed having a window that looked into the black lake. I then heard two more girls walking in, assuming they were my roommates.

They appeared at my side, introducing themselves.

" Pansy Parkinson. Millicent Bulstrode. We're pleased to have you as our roommate than the other pathetic girl we had." She mentioned.

She seemed the type of girl to only befriend girls of important pureblood families.

I nodded at the two muttering my name and focused on setting my pets into their bigger permanent cages.

When I got Mochi out, I quickly placed her in the terrarium, as I've noticed how cold and dry she was.

" Here we are Mochi. Our new adventure has begun. So far so good. Daphne seems like a genuine person while the other two seem very fake."

" Very true. I'd say you keep an eye out for them. I will too, in case they plan something."

" Thank you Mochi. Have a good night. "

I then noticed how the room fell silent, the girls staring at me. I furrowed my eyebrows. What was their problem?

" Y- You just spoke in Parselmouth. "

" Well yeah. I have that ability you know. "

" Oh oh yes of course. Anyway. Good night girls. "

We all went to sleep fairly quickly.

I cannot wait for the next day. My first day of classes.
