Chapter 2: When He Is Growing

Hamaya's POV:

In the morning when we woke up and I felt a heavier weight on my stomach than last night when we went to sleep. I looked at Snowdrift and saw that he grew as big as a raptor. "Well, looks like you'll be in that paddock in about 9-10 months." I said pushing him off my stomach so I could get ready for the day. After I got dressed and brushed my teeth and hair I signaled the Indominus hatchling and Amethyst and Victera to follow. I was to report to Delilah, for my assignment, and anything important about "the asset". "Hamaya, your first assignment is to make sure all of the paddocks aren't beginning to fall apart, and there could be any risks of the dinosaurs getting out." she said as I was walking into her office. So all I did was turn around and start walking to the closest paddock, the Raptor paddock. Halfway there I had to push Snowdrift away from me because he kept pushing me in the stomach trying to get me to go somewhere else. When we got there we saw the infamous Simon Masrani, the CEO of the Masrani Global Corporation and founder of two of its subsidiaries; Jurassic World and Masrani Energy. "Ah, hello Hamaya. How has your mother been treating you?" he said as we approach. "Delilah has been treating me like shit, which isn't anything new for me." I said rolling my eyes. All of a sudden Snowdrift starts growling at one of the staff members going to the Raptor paddock. But when the staff member had gotten there with the Raptors' food the gate broke under the weight of Charlie, Blue, and Delta. "Charlie! Blue! Delta! Come here." I said as I walked towards them to calm them down. BIG mistake. Delta jumped on top of me. Somehow though Snowdrift got her off of me and stood above me protectively growling at Charlie, Blue, and especially Delta. To everyone's surprise, they went back into the paddock where Indigo was. After we fixed the gate and strengthened it I moved on to the next paddock, The Mosasaurs' paddock/tank. When we got there they were feeding the Mosasaurs. "Do you want to help feed the Mosasaurs Hamaya? I know they love whenever you come to swim with them." One of the Mosasaur trainers asked. "I would be happy to." I replied as I walked up to the controls that dropped the shark into the tank. When I got to the controls I noticed that Snowdrift followed me. He then rubbed his head against my stomach after I turned away from the controls after feeding the Mosasaurs. "What is it Snowdrift?" I asked him as he started gently pushing me away from the Mosasaur tank. "I think he wants your attention back on him Hamaya." the other Mosasaur trainer giggled. I sighed as he started rubbing his head against me again. To get him to stop I decided to pet his head, and thankfully it worked....until we got to Rexy's paddock. We then heard her roar. "Sounds like she knows you all are here." One of her handlers said. "That and she doesn't like that she can smell Snowdrift right next to me and she doesn't like you even 10 feet near me." I replied as I tried pushing Snowdrift away from me. And unfortunately for me, Rexy's handler is the one guy I can't stand on this island, James De Angelo. He is the most flirtatious being I have ever met, he had come to my room on multiple occasions before I had Amethyst and Victera and tried to rape me, thankfully he hasn't tried to since my raptors came around. When James started walking towards us Snowdrift stepped in front of me and started growling at him. "I think Snowdrift is warning you not to come any closer to me than you already have." I stated calmly. "And what can he do if I were to kiss you now." James said as he came up to me and kissed me. I then pushed him off of me as Snowdrift pinned him to the ground and started growling at him again. "Thank you Snowdrift." I said as I started laughing. I then did a full scope of Rexy's paddock. I saw that she had started pushing the gate open, as soon as I got to the gate she broke it open and walked over to where Snowdrift was pinning down James still growling. I followed her and watched as she roared at them both and walked back over to me with Snowdrift on her heels, she then gently nudged me into her enclosure and after Snowdrift walked through with Amethyst and Victera they worked together to close the gate. I started laughing as the handlers were trying their hardest to get the gate back open. "You do realize they aren't going to let you open those gates unless I tell them to right?" I said between fits of laughter as Snowdrift kept rubbing against me. Snowdrift then licked my cheek and started making a purring sound as he lied his head on my lap and I started petting his head gently. I could tell Rexy didn't like it because she went into overprotective mother-mode and pushed him away from me which allowed the handlers the chance to get the gate open. I started laughing when Snowdrift growled at her as if he were challenging her. When the handlers saw what was going on they had a confused look on their faces, "What's going on with those two!?" James asked which caused Snowdrift, Rexy, Amethyst, and Victera to growl at him threateningly. "I think the whole reason this started was that you had kissed me and they know I didn't want to be kissed by an asshole like you." I said as even I started growling at him. I walked out of the paddock with Snowdrift by my side and Amethyst and Victera close behind. We started the long trek to the paddock they were building for Snowdrift. When we got there we saw non-other than Claire, monitoring the progress. "Hey Claire." I greeted as she turned around and saw us walking towards her. She looked shocked to see how big Snowdrift had gotten since last night. "Hamaya you can't keep that thing so close to you at the rate it's already growing!" Claire said worried for my well-being. "Claire, it's fine, Snowdrift won't hurt me. After all he's already protected me from Delta and warned off James." I said in Snowdrift's defense.

When we got back to the main area of the theme park it was already dark out and Delilah was standing on the steps glaring at me. I knew I should have seen this coming but for some reason I didn't, she slapped me across the cheek, "You are useless, waste of space! I don't even know why I didn't just drop you off at an orphanage the day you were born!" she yelled as she pushed me to the ground and kicked my stomach. After she left we went straight to my room where I started crying for the next hour. When I stopped crying I looked at the clock and saw that it was 8:30, I walked into the bathroom that connects to my room and got ready for bed. After I sat at the foot of my bed Snowdrift jumped up next to me and gently nuzzled his head into my stomach, I then started to rub his head. After a few minutes, I finally laid down as Snowdrift laid next to me curling against me, and Amethyst and Victera decided to sleep on their beds I had in here for them, for once. Snowdrift kept nudging me so I knew I was probably going to get very little sleep. Eventually, I sat up and Snowdrift put his back against mine and used his head to make me lay against him, he then curled his tail over my legs. After a while, we fell asleep like that, and I know what you are thinking, "why are you letting that thing sleep on your bed with you?" Well, I'm letting him because as soon as he finishes growing, I probably won't be allowed near him. Until then I am going to let him be comfortable, and I am going to be kind to him.
