The Other Half

Chapter Five

--Three Days Before the Party--

        "So we have the gazebo rented, we have the cake designed, we have the invitations sent out and a list of people who've RSVP'd, we have the catering plans, anything else we need to remember?" I asked both Lily and my mom who decided to help and be my personal party helpers. 
        "Decorations!" Lily exclaimed.
        "Party music. We need to make a playlist" Mom suggested.
        "I'll do that, I'll take songs from my iPod" I told them, adding to the checklist for the party that was almost perfectly planned out. 

        I went upstairs to my bedroom, syncing my iPod into my computer and loading up iTunes to make a playlist. I dragged all my favorite songs, a total of 72 songs into a playlist and labeled it "Party Mix". Well, now that thats done I can focus on other needs for the party. I texted Lily telling her the playlist was set up, and I walked downstairs to tell my Mother. Lily told me she was at the party store looking at decorations and wanted me to go meet her there. 

-1 Hour Later- 

        "I think I like these black and white decorations more, It seems so classy and I love it." I told her.
        "Alright, black and white decorations it is" Lily agreed.

        We then went gathered all the decorations and brought them to the register. The total was $87, I swiped my moms credit card she lent me and we took the supplies out to my car and put them in the trunk. 
        "I'll see you the day of the party and help set everything up!" Lily said.
        "Sounds great! See you there!" I said getting into my car. 

        I drove home and I unloaded the decorations and brought them into the garage. I left them there for safe keeping until the day of the party. I showed my mom all the decorations, and she agreed black and white was a pretty theme to choose. Her theme was pink and black, and she liked how mine was more simple and classy. Now that the entire check list was checked off, I was able to relax about the party and look at hairstyles and makeup on Pinterest to see how I wanted to do my hair and makeup for my party. I had my dress and shoes picked out for the formal evening gathering, and had my bathing suit picked out for the day time. Me and Lily decided that what we are going to do, is we're going to be casual for the beach gathering during the day and then we're all going to go home and get ready for the evening gathering at 4 and come back at 7 to the Gazebo for the night party. My mom liked that idea and informed other parents of the arrangements and everybody knew what to do. Finally I could stop stressing about my party and the planning and just simply be excited for it all to happen. Turning 18 is so huge, I'll get to know who my soulmate is and finally learn what its like to be in a relationship and everything! Relationships are obviously for adults, considering you meet your soulmate at 18. I wonder what our charm is, typically the charm is something you share in common. Whether its a logo of a common interest, or a charm of a hobby you both share, or whatever it is you have in common. I wonder what ours is. Save & Publish
