Dex's Final Hours
Dex had no idea where Keefe or Sophie had gone. He had decided it would be best to check all of their known residences.
He'd gone to Havenfield, and Sandor told him there had been no sign of her there.
He'd decided to check Candleshade next, and upon arrival he knew something was wrong immediately. The front door was wide open.
Lord Cassius wasn't anywhere inside. Dex checked every floor.
Then he reached the top floor, and found one room. It took up the entire floor much like Sophie's did at Havenfield, but it felt so... weird. There were books scattered across the ground, and notes taped to the wall in a language Dex couldn't understand.
That's when he found the diary sitting on the desk. It was gold, much like one of Keefe's old notebooks, but instead of drawings there were paragraphs upon paragraphs about some girl's life.
She said her name was Kayla Sencen, and that she was Keefe's brother, which seemed so unbelievable that he almost put the diary away.
Almost.
It was the name that caught his attention. The paragraph read:
I have finally discovered the identity of the cloaked figure. She calls herself Tidalwave, and her name is...
Dex gasped and dropped the diary "How could it..." he ripped the page out and stuffed it in his pocket.
