The hairs on my back stand up as a shiver is sent deep into my spine. I take a second to close my eyes and breath, I count to ten slowly like I learned in therapy. It didn't really calm me though, as I walked across the road to school my heart was still pounding as I heard the engines of cars and felt the breeze they created as they pasted, and I still did that weird aggressive blinking thing that helps stops the flashbacks. Once I take the last step off the road I finally take a breath, my shoulders drop slightly as my mind and body relax. It's ok.

I'm met by sage, she doesn't hesitate to hug me. She must of saw me stagger across the road. I dig my face into her shoulder as she hugs me tighter.
"Sam are you sure you should be walking to school" sage says looking at me with that 'I just to help you look'
"Sage I appreciate you acting like my mother, but I'm not ten anymore relax. I just.." I pause trying to stop her from seeing how shaken up I am.
"I just needed a moment" I soften my tone remembering she's just trying to help.
I smile and try to reassure her I'm fine.
"I'll see you at lunch okay?"
I squeeze her hand and smile
"I'll see you at lunch" she says almost Reluctantly.

When I get to chem I see Nova sitting at my desk. He's this Newish guy, moved about a month ago and well he's "one of the boys" so I try to avoid him.
"Nova that's my seat" I say trying to sound as unimpressed as possible without sounding rude.
"Don't sound so excited Sammy"  he says with a grin.
"First don't call me Sammy, and second it's still my seat"
"Actually Sammy, it's our seat" he reply's now with a bigger smirk.
I sigh and take my seat.
"Well lucky me" I say under my breath.
I lay my head in the desk so drained from this morning and still shaken up.
"Hey Sammy" Nova whispers
I raise my head and jump back as I wasn't expecting he's face so close to me.
"God Nova your really trying to get close to me aren't ya?" I say jokingly but still slightly aggravated.
"What can I say we got chemistry Sammy" he says weirdly confidently.
I just look at him for a second, and I let out a slight smile and laugh before resting my head back on the table.
"least I got you to smile" Nova laughs
"Your an idiot" I laugh back though it's slightly muffled from my head being in the desk.
"It's an idiot that makes you smile thanks" he says with sass.
Lucky my face was covered by my hair because now I really was smiling.
After what felt like years the bell for lunch finally goes. I walk out of my class with a crowd of people who hardly know me, friends definitely but not like sage. She's been there for me since we were 5 in primary school when she stood up for me against some bullies. Best friends since.
"Sam your coming to my party right?" Steph asks.
She's one of only other ones out of my friends I call a close friend, she doesn't know me anywhere near as well as sage does but yet again no one does.
"Yeah, plus I know you guys would drag me even if I said no" I reply.
They all laugh at that comment. I know they think there helping me open up or whatever, but they don't understand my hatred for loud noises and people screaming, hence party's not being ideal.
