"Þakka þér fyrir valið Icelandic Airs, vonumst til að sjá þig aftur fljótlega." (Trans: Thank you for choosing Icelandic Airs, hope to see you again soon.) the flight attendant said as the passengers slowly get off the aircraft, one of them is Ourania. She directly went to the baggage claim area and gathered her two luggage before getting out of the airport.
'I'm back' she thought to herself, taking a deep breath before getting in the taxi deciding to go straight to their family Manor. Paying the driver with extra penny, she pulled her luggage and knock on the door. Moments later, their butler opened the door and immediately called someone to help her bring her things to her old room. She roam her eyes around the Manor, basking in the familiarity of the place she grew up in, though at the moment the Manor is filled with people running around trying to finish decorating the floor for her father's birthday party tonight. Her head snap towards the library as her mother hurriedly walk up to her and hug her so tight.
"Oh my darling girl, you're back." Her mother Levanda, said with a teary eye. Cupping her daughter's face, it broke her heart when she learned that her faithful daughter had ran away. "You're back for good right?"
"Yes mama." She smile at her mother before noticing her sister ran down the stairs. "Hello, Thalassa." She greeted her sister in a neutral voice, though still smiling.
"Ourania, why are you here!?" Thalassa exclaimed at her sister, having mixed emotions but anger reign above them all. Ourania look at her with a scowl, not understanding why she's mad at her when it should be the other way around.
"Thalassa! That is not how you greet your sister who just got back after six years!" Their mother exclaimed, throwing a glare at the oldest sister.
"This is my home too, in case you forgot." She replied before looking at her mother again. "Is it okay of I go take a rest? And please don't tell papa I'm back, I'd like to surprise him tonight." Without another glance at her sister, she went upstairs and was about to get in her room when her sister stopped her.
"You are not planning on getting back with him, right?" Thalassa ask, her voice firm and her grip on Ourania's arm tightened. "I mean, it would be a shame if that's the case since you just left him easily like that." Ourania mentally roll her eyes while she gently remove Thalassa's hand before looking at her straight in the eyes.
"Are you two together now? Well, I wouldn't be surprise knowing how you easily throw yourself at him even though he's married to your sister." Thalassa gaped at her sister in shock.
"He was supposed to be mine in the first place! Dad introduced us together and we would've gone on a date if it weren't for you seducing him!" Thalassa exploded, letting out her frustration that gone way back ten years ago, on Ourania's 22nd birthday. She was so confident that he would ask her on a date but instead pursued her sister and even married her, but that didn't stop her from wanting the man even more, so she did everything to get his attention whenever Ourania was not around and six years ago, she cornered him and didn't waste time on jumping him. She thought it would've escalated into even more if only the sound of the elevator didn't disturbed them, but she never have thought that Ourania saw them.
"I seduced him, how?" Ourania ask.
"You acting all shy and innocent, you're always good at doing that." Thalassa said, gesturing at her.
"Oh, so me being "shy" and "innocent" was me seducing him?" She ask, quoting the two words before smiling. "I'm good." She mock before rolling her eyes. "If you're only going to talk more nonsense then do it somewhere else, I'm tired." She dismissed her sister before slamming the door on her face. She's exhausted and really needs a beauty sleep, because there's still a party she needs to attend tonight.

Ourania groaned upon hearing multiple knocks on her door that woke her up, she look at her bedside clock and immediately jump out of bed, her father's birthday party starts at seven and it's now eight pm. She opened the door revealing her mother looking at her from head to toe several times before letting herself in. "Ourania! Did you woke up just now!? The party started an hour ago! You need to get ready." Levanda push her daughter inside the bathroom to let her take a quick shower before going inside her closet and pick up two dresses for her to choose and place it on top of her bed and waited for Ourania to come out. Ourania took a shower before going to sleep so she doesn't have to wash her hair again, after she's done she went out of the bathroom with her mother ushering her to sit down in front of her dressing table to arrange her hair into a bun. "Now, don't take too long putting on make up darling, I'll go back downstairs first." Levanda said before exiting her room.
She hurriedly put on simple make up before looking at the two dresses her mother place on her bed, without much thought, she pick up the red long sleeve dress with a cut on the side exposing her leg, she paired it up with a black lace up stiletto. She sprayed perfume in the air and let it fall down on her and check herself on the mirror for a minute before stepping out of her room. She took a deep breath, feeling another familiar feeling every time she has to attend parties like this, but this time she's feeling more nervous and she knows why.
She approached the stairs and look at the people gathered downstairs, having different conversations, she took another deep breath before descending the stairs, praying she wouldn't trip or anything. When she finally reach the ground floor, all eyes were suddenly on her making her froze in her place but immediately composed herself 'You're not the old Ourania.' She reminded herself so she gave them a smile before approaching her father who's looking at her with shock visible on his face.
"Happy birthday papa." She greeted and hug him, feeling his trembling hands wrap around her tightly.
"So the surprise your mother was talking about, it was you?" Her father ask after he let her go. She nodded and wipe the tears on the corner of his eyes. Aros pulled her daughter towards the center and called out everyone's attention. "Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank you all for joining me on celebrating my birthday and I'm even more happy because my youngest daughter Ourania is back." Everyone clap and cheers making Aros smile even wider. "Please enjoy the rest of the night, the party's just getting started." And with that, the music began playing again.
Ourania's feet started hurting and her cheeks starts getting numb from smiling here and there and so she excused herself from her father who refused to let her leave his side and always include her in any sorts of conversation. She went to the toilet to take a breather, the crowd overwhelming her after being far away from this lifestyle for six years.
Feeling more better, she exits the toilet and head towards where her mother is when she saw Martino, the bodyguard her husband assigned for her. Martino smile at her and she smile back before turning around only to bump into someone. Ourania gasp and a very familiar scent of Giorgio Armani and tobacco she love so much filled her nostrils but her body stiffen, afraid to look up.
She wasn't ready.
She expected that he would be in the party and no matter how much she tells herself that she's ready to face him, ready to see him again, she was obviously lying to herself.
She's not ready to see him, not ready to see her husband.
So she step aside and walk past him without glancing, but she only took two steps before an arm wrap around her waist.
"Ciao amore mio."
