...

I looked at myself in the mirror, breathing in deeply as if it could chase off my nightmares. I stood far away from the dresser, away from the necklace as I peered across the room.

Come on, scared of something you love?!

I walked up to it, holding my breath as I quickly put it over my head. Nothing happened.

See?! You're safe here!

I sighed as I slung my bag over my shoulder, willing myself to get ready for the day. I stepped out of my dorm, looking down the hallway, checking for Salali. Relief shocked my system as the hallway was empty.

Everyone had left for school. They probably forgot about me, they always do. At least I get some time to analyze what the hell is going on.

I opened the front door to the dorms and stepped out into the warm air. I allowed it to put a small smile on my face, a nice contrast from what I feel. I open my eyes, looking straight ahead, and starting down the steps.

"Oi, Y/n!" My head turns to meet Katsuki pushing off the wall. "What the hell took you so long?!" His eyes fell on the locket. "I thought you said not to touch it?"

"I did, I just-" I paused, not really knowing why I put it on. "I just need to remember her words." I fumble with the straps on my backpack.

"Alright then. C'mon, you took so long we'll probably be late." He scoffed, walking straighter than usual.

A chuckle rose from my throat.

"Oi, Nightlight! What the hell is funny? Get a move on!" I jogged up to him, a smirk pasted on my face.

"Your walking with better posture now-" I burst into laughter.

"EH?!" He shoved me to the side gently. "Shut it." We walked in silence for a second, tension from last night weighing us both down.

"I never thanked you for last night, it meant a lot." I met his crimson eyes and smiling, even if it was empty.

"No need for all that." He looked straight ahead. "And next time you feel like going insane, come get me first."

"Alright," The school crept closer to us, as we near the steps, I panic a little. "What did Aizawa say about my new fire thingy?" I can't really control it, and if someone finds out I have more than one quirk-

"Just blame it on the oxygen in the air, fire burns oxygen, so just say you concentrated a bunch of particles on one spot and lit yourself on fire." He spoke evenly. His voice made me want to melt.

"Okay, alright." I popped my fingers.

"Oi, don't freak yourself out, I've got your back." He stared ahead, opening the door and stepping in. I followed closely behind, not ready for today's training. Katsuki got a little bit ahead of me, as I got lost in my thoughts, my grandmother's locket coming to mind.

On instinct, my hand rose to the cool metal hanging around my neck. I pulled it up to my view, admiring the beautiful curves of her initials.

I then felt a dark presence. It consumed my mind as cold claws snaked down my back as I jumped, jogging up to Katsuki. I looked behind me to see a normal UA hallway.
