„Why Are you Running away from conflict?! Wilbur! You can't escape the truth forever! You weren't there when I needed you most and I will never forgive you for that! Stop pretending!"

These words were circling in my head over and over again. I couldn't get rid of them...

Pretending? Was that all he thought I was doing? It wasn't my fault I couldn't remember anything Wilbur had done.... it really wasn't....

I wasn't Wilbur...

Pretending, huh? Pretending....
This word was stuck in the depths of my mind...

Was I really just pretending? It felt so surreal...

Me? Ghostbur? Wouldn't I know if I was just pretending?

My own son thought of me as a liar...
My little champion thought I was just a fake.
He had lost all hope in me, calling me a liar, a reckless father and a misunderstanding old man...

My vision faded and everything around me became bright. I was standing on a stage, a big red stage.

I felt as if the people around me were throwing roses at me. They flew right through me...

Instead they landed at the feet of a man that looked exactly like me. He spread out his hands and welcomed every rose and every thorn that came with them.

He stepped forward and looked me dead in the eye as his devilish smirk grew wider.

He knew. He knew I was there. He could see me. I looked at him with a confused facial expression.

As the man smiled back at me he whispered something to me, „this is what they wanted to see. I have them what they wanted. I truly am an amazing actor, Ghostbur. But eventually you'll have to realize that everyone else in this god forsaken L'manburg is fake. They are truly the best actors and we are just a little part of their big play"

Taken back by his words, I stepped back a bit. „Liar", I blurted out.
„Liar", I told him again.

"We're all liars.... But me and you Ghostbur... we know the truth", he told me, stepping closer to me with each word he spoke.

Eventually he reached me and surprisingly he was able to touch me. His hand laid on my shoulder as he constantly smiled at me.

"We know the truth Ghostbur. Funny is right, you can't keep running forever", the words left his lips so quickly that I wasn't quick enough to realize I wa back in the real world. I was back in L'manburg.

A play?
I was just a part of a stupid play? I was just a puppet for them to control and I couldn't even do anything about it due to my lack of memories...

But I won't give in to these thought. I never would. I was a changed man now after all. I knew I could prove Fundy wrong.

I knew that I would be a better father to him than Wilbur ever would've been...

I was Ghostbur now. I had changed a long time ago and now was the time for me to show everybody...
