stellas pov
today's the day. today's actually the day. the long ass shifts i worked this summer to pay for my meet and greet tickets finally started to feel like they were worth something. everything was perfect. i was driving through los angeles with my best friends in the world, on our way to see billie eilish.
"hey stella," my friend delilah leaned over the car console pointing out at the street, "go two more blocks, take a left, and then you should see a parking garage ahead."
somehow i, the girl who just got her license a month ago, got put in charge of driving us through the traffic-heavy city of los angeles to get to the venue. i usually don't mind driving around our friend group, however i was a little on edge navigating the city for the first time.
my lifelong friend lennon was in the passenger seat helping calm my nerves. she's the 'mom' friend of the group. our moms have been inseparable since high school, so we grew up doing everything together. joey sat behind lennon. she's the nicest girl you could ever meet. insane, but not the annoying kind. she's got quite a mouth on her too, never shuts up. but we love her. us three were the closest of friends. the perfect trio. then delilah, who is much like joey, transferred to our school in the seventh grade. she fit in immediately and our group has been inseparable ever since.
i pulled into the parking garage, and got my wallet out to pay for the expensive ass parking in the city. i felt a cold arm rest on my shoulder. i looked over, about to pay, until i noticed lennon waving her card in front of my face. "stella montgomery. you got us here safe, the least i could do is pay for parking." lennon insisted as a smirk crept onto her freckled face.
i took the card from her and grabbed our parking ticket from the machine. we drove up the incline of the garage until we found an empty spot to park. the energy in the car was unlike i've ever felt before, you can feel the excitement radiating in the car.———
a couple hours had gone by, we were now basking in the mid-day los angeles heat outside of the venue. sweat dripping down our nearly sunburnt faces.
"billie better be worth the fucking THREE HOURS we have to wait out here until they open the god damn doors" delilah exclaimed as she placed hers and joeys water bottles behind her knees, eager to cool off.
"you're so impatient del. a few hours of misery for a few hours of pure joy is a fair trade off." joey exclaimed. she sat back against the brick wall with her tan legs sprawled out.
"how hot is it anyway?" i butted in.
"it's 93, not too bad," lennon said, as she pulled out her phone. "wait guys there's only 30 more minutes until they should open the doors." she added.
"fucking finally" delilah sighed.
we heard the creek of the doors as they opened, earlier than expected. i spotted a familiar blue haired girl strut through the venue doors, followed by loads of security.
