Ryan
When the day finally ended, I climbed into my truck as my body ached in pain. Tonight seemed like a good night to drink myself to sleep since I had nothing else to do. Harper, Danny and Hope were still not talking to me. It honestly didn't bother me as much as it probably should have, considering I probably wasn't in a relationship anymore. But not having her around was honestly better than I thought it would be.
Finally pulling into the liquor store I wandered in and tried to find something that would get me shit faced. My body gravitated towards the vodka before hearing, "Ryan!" I about dropped the bottle from Josie's sudden high pitched voice.
Carefully putting the bottle back, I wandered up to the front to see her happy face. "Hey."
I watched her rummage through the register before pulling out a small piece of paper that was folded up. She was then holding it out to me as I simply stared at it. "This is for you."
"For me? If you wanted to tell me something you could've just said it out loud."
This time she rolled her eyes as she smiled. "It isn't from me! It's important though."
I simply gave her an odd look before taking the paper. "Do you know who it's from?"
The door was suddenly opening, a rowdy group of guys walking in. They were all laughing each other as they grabbed some beer and walked towards the front. Josie's eyes were looking back over at me before she said, "Willow."
My mouth dropped open a little before numbly walking out. I didn't take my eyes off the store before watching the group of guys walk out. When they were gone I looked down at the note, my heart beating a million miles a minute. My name was written on the front in a nice looking handwriting before finding the courage to open it.
Ryan,
Can we talk more? If you come back to the farmhouse I promise no one will interrupt again. Or you can text me; I know you have my number. I'd really like to keep talking to you.
Willow
After placing the note onto my passenger seat I glanced at the clock and wondered if it was too late. It was almost six and I also smelled, but his note made me want to go back over. Grabbing my phone from my pocket I found his number while starting up the truck and drove home. After swallowing my fear I dialed his number while turning down a road.
It only rang for a few seconds before he answered and hesitantly asked, "Ryan?"
"I got off work a little bit ago but need to shower. Would it be too late to come over?"
"No," he softly said as I parked the truck and started to open the front door. "Just tell me when you're here."
My body felt weirdly shaky as I said, "Okay."
The line was quiet for a few moments before he said, "Bye Ryan, see you later."
With that I hung up before wandering into my room and grabbing random clothes. I took a pretty quick shower, toweling off my hair while walking back towards the front door. Once I was ready to go I locked it up and made my way back towards my truck.
By the time I was pulling back up in front of the yellow farmhouse, my limbs were feeling shaky. I sent him a quick text saying I was here, before walking up towards the front door. It was opening about a minute later, my eyes looking down at his smaller body.
