chapter two: what is this feeling?

Anonymous POV

"UGH!" I said to myself, I didn't know what to think of this. After I heard someone was going to move in next to my house and became my new neighbor, I was frustrated. I had always been one of the best citizens here in Mondstadt. What if these new people steal the spotlight? These thoughts continued bothering me as I was walking around the city late at night. Sigh... What should I do now....

Y/n POV

I just stood there in complete shock, I turned my head around and looked at my mother. "Mom.... is this true?" She didn't reply, but instead nodded up and down. I didn't know what to say, I was just in pure shock.

I was worried. Like very worried. What if the people didn't like me? What if I don't get accepted there? All these thoughts were interrupted by my neighbor crying even more. Soon my mother said "Y/n its getting late, you should go sleep, we'll be leaving for early tomorrow " With a soft smile on her face, and so I went upstairs and took a nice warm bath while hearing music from outside. Springvale loved playing music at night, it was one of the little things other travelers from around the world enjoyed about Springvale.

As I laid my body on the bath and hummed to the music that was playing, but I wasn't really focusing on my surroundings, something was stuck in my mind, it was the boy with red crimson eyes. I just wanted to meet him again and thank him for saving me. I let out a sigh, finished my bath, brushed my teeth and laid down on my soft bed.

My room was empty, all my stuff was put in boxes on the downstairs floor, I only had a soft old bed in my room left.

Author's POV

<the next morning>

You woke up early and got up from your bed, as you always, you take a shower and brush your teeth. Soon enough you went downstairs and saw carts everywhere, and all your items and belongings were in boxes and on the carts.

As you went out of your house you see your family using their shoes and so you immediately rush outside and used your shoes and rushed with your family to Mondstadt, some of the knights from Mondstadt helped push the carts into Mondstadt. But you and your family decided to walk there by foot

Y/n POV

<arriving in Mondstadt>

There I was, in front of the big Mondstadt gate, as soon as I went in there my mind was filled with worried thoughts about living in the big city. As soon as we arrived at our new home, I went to look inside it. It was a little bit bigger than our old home back in Springvale, and all the houses here look identical. My mother told me to walk around Mondstadt, but she told me to bring some apple pie just in case I meet a neighbor on my walk around the city, in the mean time she wants to un-pack some of her books from her book collection.

As I was walking around the city, I read a poster on one of the Taverns' there, they were having a sale on all drinks, and obviously I never tried Mondstadt drinks, so I decided to go in and buy some for me and my family too.

"Welcome" I heard someone say in a low voice, I looked up to the bartender shaking a drink for one of the customers; "Oh... My... God" I said as I saw the bartender. "You... you were the guy that sav-" he rushed to me and shut my mouth with his hand. He sighed and held my hand tight and brought me outside the tavern.

"Hey let go of me!" I muffled while his hand was still covering my mouth.

"Sush, there are people here" he said.

"Okay and??" you replied.

He soon lifted his hand off my mouth and peeked his head around to make sure nobody is near.

Author's POV

And there you two were, his hand was on your waist, making sure nobody sees you two. It took a moment for him to realize what he was doing and what was happening. You looked at him and soon enough he looked back at you. It was just like when you guys first met. Both of you couldn't take your eyes off each other for some reason. Both of you guys gradually became all shades of red and looked away from each other at the same time, you both avoided eye contact and so he let go of your waist and covered his face with his hands.

It was silent, and you could hear the birds chirping. It was getting late and so the boy with crimson red eyes started to walk away.

Boy with crimson red eyes POV

"Wait" I heard the fair maiden that I saved the other day scream as I was walking away, I turned around and saw the maiden bow down, "Thank you for saving me the other day, uh... I know this is sudden but what is your name?" The maiden asked. I didnt want to reply to this because I was afraid the maiden might tell everyone I saved them. But for some reason I couldn't say no.... "what was this feeling?" I asked myself.... I brushed the thoughts off and said "Im Diluc Ragnvindr". We both stood there in silence,

"How about yours?" I asked back. "Oh im Y/n" Y/n replied. "Oh, you must be new in Mondstadt?" I questioned Y/n, "Yea i guess" the maiden replied. And again, it became quiet, "UH ITS GETTING LATE HEHE, I THINK I NEED TO GET GOING NOW.... I GUESS I'LL SEE YOU AROUND " Y/n said awkwardly.

The girl soon ran off and after they were out of sight, I also went off to my own thoughts,

"what was that feeling i felt back there?"

Y/n POV

I ran as fast as I could back home. When i arrived my mother asked where the pie was and I forgot that I accidentally dropped it when I saw Mr. Ragnvindir?¿ was that his name? I didn't have much memory of his last name, but it would be rude to call him by his first name so I might as well call him by his last name.

"Uh, i might have sort of... dropped it?¿" I told my mother
"Oh dear how did that happen" She replied with a shock on her face.

"Ah but you know what thats okay, i'll make some tomorrow but dont forget to give them to our neighbors next time" She sighed. "For now just go rest, its been a long day for all of us"

And there I was, laying down on my new bed, in my new room, and in my new house. I couldn't help but think of that moment when I was with Mr. Ragvindr, I felt so safe when I was around him... what is this feeling?
