Kits are born groupless, and train with a Spirit-Wanderer or Rogue mentor. They train with each other until the kit reaches the age of one, where the leaders of each group gather around to watch their possible new recruit. The kit will choose which group they go into—Feather-Lifters, Claw-Bearers, or Blossom-Keepers. They will only become a Spirit-Wanderer if the Spirits themselves choose them. Unlike the others, Spirit-Wanderers are not a part of their own group, they are scattered into the others as messengers or prophecy tellers.

If the kit chooses to be a Feather-Lifter, they will hunt any such thing with feathers. Their mentor will then pluck one or two feathers off of the carcass and tie it into their fur, somewhere around their ears. Feather-Lifters are known for their passion and ability to jump high. The Spirit of the bird they hunted will now forever be with them, to keep them safe from danger.

If the kit chooses to be a Claw-Bearer, they will fight and kill anything with claws and fangs. Their mentor will remove one claw and one fang from the dead animal and pierce it into their ear, or one in each of their ears. Claw-Bearers are known for their ferocity, but can have mercy, like all cats. The Spirit of the animal they bested will now live in them forever, giving them the power to overcome any threat.

If the kit chooses to be a Blossom-Keeper, they will not fight and kill anything. Their mentor will pick one or two flowers of the kit's choosing and tie it into their fur somewhere around their ear, much like Feather-Lifters. Blossom-Keepers are known for their calmness, and peacemaker abilities. The flower will give them luck, and soak in their anger when they need to.

The kit does not choose to become a Spirit-Wanderer; instead, the Spirits do. The Spirit-Wanderer spectating will receive a sign from the Spirits themselves, telling them that this kit is special, and was chosen. Their mentor will then wait until the night of a full moon, and search for the moss that shines the brightest. They will lift the moss in their jaws and scatter it into the kit's fur. The Spirits are the ones who will guide them through danger now. Every night, the sign shines brighter than ever.

If the kit chooses to be a Rogue, there is no stopping them. They will become savages with no other marks but their scars. Rogues are known for their ruthlessness, killing whatever is in their way. Their heart is the only thing that guides them, and most of the time, their heart is wrong.
