This chapter picks up at the end of Chapter 19: From Your Eyes
Pheobe's POV
"Pheobe, get down here and help. Your brother and Harry will be here any minute now!" My mommy called and I frowned. I didn't want to come help set the table or clean the kitchen.
For the past hour, I had been perched up on the couch, waiting for my brother and his boyfriend to drive up. It had been so long since I had seen him and even though Lottie had shown us how to facetime with him it's not the same.
"Pheebs, didn't mom just call you?" Lottie asked as she came down the stairs.
"Yes but I'm not going. I'm waiting for Louis and his Harry."
"Oh, right I forgot they are coming today." She says and walked over to me by the window. "Here," She jokes and stuffs a pair of dress-up antlers on my head, "So you'll look all festive when they come."
"I look silly." I pout but Lottie shakes her head, "Lou won't think they're silly and you know it. Here's a pair for him in case he wants one." And she tosses another headband from the mantle in my direction."
"Lottie are you down here?" Mommy calls from the kitchen.
"Shit, don't answer." She says scurrying back upstairs. "Tell me when they're here."
"Ok," I reply and continued to stare outside at the cold winter air. There were so many things I wanted to show Louis when he comes. Like the new twister game, Daisy and I had gotten for Christmas. Over facetime, he had promised to play with us. Maybe he'll be able to beat Fizzy who has won all the games so far.
"Pheobe I'm counting to three!" My mommy called and I groaned in frustration. Jumping off the couch I ran to the kitchen hoping to get whatever needed to get done quickly so I could continue my watch.
"Thank you, baby." She says when I enter the kitchen. She's making her special vegetable soup and I wrinkle my nose. Ew vegetables, I hope she doesn't put spinach in it like she did last time. "Please get the ingredients out for cornbread." She asked, stirring the soup and pointing to the recipe on the counter.
Yum cornbread. "Ok mommy," I say and rushed through the job almost spilling the baking soda and dropping the honey bottle."
"Why are you such in a rush dear?" She asked laughing at me.
"I want to get back to the window and watch for Lou," I explain.
"Make sure you say hi to Harry as well, we don't want to make him feel uncomfortable."
"Are you excited to meet Harry?" I ask, "Lou's only really had one boyfriend and he never brought Oliver home with him."
"Of course I'm excited to meet him but Pheebs just be on your best behavior. I think Lou's serious about Harry and we don't want to embarrass him too much."
"I won't," I say shaking my head back and forth so my pigtails shake. "I just want him to play with us like he always does."
"Just don't be surprised if he wants to spend more time with Harry this New Year's ok, baby?"
"What if Harry wants to play with us?"
"Then he's a keeper." She said laughing.
"Am I done, can I go back to the window now mommy?" I plead, "I got it all out for you."
"Yes, honey and let me know when they arrive."
"Ok!" I call and rush back to the couch to sit and watch for them.
I wonder what Harry will be like. Louis's old boyfriend Oliver was nice but I was too young to remember him very well. He just hogged all of Lou's time up and never played with us. I hope Harry wasn't going to be like that.
