Chapter 3

Kiyoko opened the gym door and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. "Good morning." She greeted.

Tanaka gasped and practically floated towards her. "Hello, there. You're looking as beautiful as ever, Kiyoko!" He greeted dreamily. Kiyoko ignored him and continued walking. "Ah, ignoring me!"

"Hey, look! It's that pretty girl!" Hinata pointed out. "So do you think she's the team manager or something?" He asked Kageyama. Kageyama ignored him and continued stretching.

"Alright, let's get started." Daichi yelled.

"Huh?" Hinata questioned.

"Ren will play on Tsukishima's team to make it three-on-three." The captain explained.

"Huh? Is that fair though?! Ren's a libero!" The small male pointed out.

Daichi laughed. "Don't worry, of course it is. Tanaka's got a lot more attack power than him. He won't go easy on you though. Right?" Ren nodded mutely.

"Well, ahem... the buzzcut or the shorty. Who to crush... I mean, challenge first?" Tsukishima taunted. Ren stiffened. "So hard to choose... but I do know I'd like to save His Highness for last."

Daichi sighed. "Uh... Tsukki?... They can hear you... Be careful." Yamaguchi warned.

"I know, genius, I want them to hear me... I can't wait to watch the King fall apart out there." Tsukishima called out.

"Well now... You've got quite a personality there don't you?" Daichi asked.

"You have no idea..." Ren murmured.

"Oh? I'll take that as a complement, Panda cub. It'll have to be a pretty great show to top watching him get abandoned by all his loyal subjects last year."

"I'm about to kick you in the ankles." Ren threatened. Tsukishima playfully rolled his eyes at small male.

"I'm so threatened."

"Well, well! Didja hear that, you guys? They're talking trash now... that jerk had better just step off!" Tanaka said in a higher octave as he strutted closer to his teammates and stomped his foot. He then turned around to the other team in anger. "Or he's dead meat." He growled. Hinata stuck his tongue out at them as well.

~Time Skip~

Tanaka gave out a war cry as he spiked the ball past Tsukishima, who was attempting to block it. 

"He just got it right past that giant first-year guy!" Kinoshita gasped.

Ren gently tugged on Tsukishima's shirt to get his attention. "Don't mind. Tanaka usually goes all out on his spikes and right now he's especially fired up." He pointed out as Tanaka took his shirt off and spun it around with a war cry.

"Put your shirt on!" Sugawara yelled.

"Yeah, calm down!" Ennoshita yelled.

"I see what you mean." Tsukishima tched. The next set the ball stayed up for a while until Kageyama called Hinata up for his set. Everyone looked at him in surprise as he jumped up towards the net and spiked the ball. He would've got it too, if not for Tsukishima blocking it.

"You took me by surprise before... You have a really nice jump there... Now if only you were about a foot taller, you'd be a real superstar. Better start taking your vitamins." Tsukishima taunted.

Hinata glared at him. "Whatever! One more! I got this one for sure!" The ball went up a few more times and Hinata kept getting his spike blocked.

"Blocked again." Sugawara said.
