Hinata and Kageyama. Picture is not mine.
Ren watch from behind the door as Kageyama and Hinata practiced. Well... attempted too. He flinched when Hinata's face made contact with the floor after once again missing the receive.
"Hey! Move your feet! What happened to those reflexes you had? Get it together!" Kageyama yelled.
"All I've been doing is recieves..." Hinata grunted as he stood up. "Kageyama, we're running out of time! I wanna jump around! I wanna do some spikes!"
"Well that's too bad!" Kageyama retorted.
"Enough!" Tanaka silenced. The two first years looked at their senior player. "A word to the wise. Daichi's a nice guy most of the time, but you will not like when he's mad. Trust me." He informed.
"Yeah, we know." They both said simultaneously in horror.
"If he were to find out we're practicing early... I'm so dead." Tanaka spoke in a hush voice. "Not that I'm afraid of him or anything! Of course not; that would be ridiculously ridiculous!" He said quickly denied.
"Hm?" Hinata questioned as he tilted his head
"Didn't know you were involved in this too." A voice spoke softly in Ren's ear. Ren jumped as he let out a small squeak in surprise. He turned around to find Sugawara standing there with a sheepish smile. "Sorry, I thought you knew I was behind you." He said apologetically.
Ren shook his hands and head frantically, trying to tell him that it was okay. Sugawara chuckled at the small male before opening the door wider to enter the gym. "Anyway, it's probably for the best if we keep this little practice session a secret between the four of us-" Tanaka stopped talking and looked in surprise at the third years appearance.
"Aha! Just as I suspected!" Sugawara declared dramatically.
"Suga-san!" Tanaka exclaimed.
"Hey." He greeted as he walked into the gym and sat down to take off his shoes.
"How'd you know?" Tanaka growled.
"Come on. Something was obviously up... I mean, why else would Ren steal the keys from Daichi's pocket when he can just pick the lock like he always does?" Sugawara asked. Tanaka gave him a nervous looked as he didn't think about it. "Don't worry, I won't tell; your secret's safe with me. A clandestine crash course; that's pretty exciting."
The three of them sighed in relief. Sugawara patted the floor beside them and smiled as Ren scurried over to the spot beside him. Ren watched them practice and gave a round of applause when Tanaka did a spike that Kageyama had tossed to him.
"Whoo, I'm on fire!" Tanaka cheered.
"Hey, I wanna hit too! Throw me a bone here, Kageyama!" Hinata called out. Kageyama turned and glared at Hinata. "You're all about your sets, aren'tcha? Go ahead, send one over this way!" Kageyama didn't move. "Come on, just one! For practice! Please?"
"I don't think he wants to." Sugawara tried to explain."
Kageyama turned with his back facing Hinata. "No." He said bluntly, leaving them all stunned.
"Aw man, don't be like that!" Hinata complained.
"Yeah, dude, send him one!" Tanaka insisted. Kageyama sighed and striked the ball for Hinata to receive. Hinata put his arms out and the flew to the side as it bounced off his arms. They all watched as the ball rolled away.
"I sent that one head-on... you received to make a set and attack... don't run your mouth if you can't follow through. I'll be sending all the sets to Tanaka during the match on Saturday. Leave all the attacking to him... You just do your best to not get in my way." He demanded as he picked the volleyball up.
