Lisa nervously bit her nails as she tapped her foot anxiously, waiting for her manager to come from the meeting they were having regarding the rumours. Her dating rumours. Being the snake it is, Dispatch had taken a couple of pictures of Lisa and Jungkook when they met up in the former's dorm. They were stalking Jungkook since the night he came to visit her dorm. Since he stayed the night, they got more suspicious. They even had a picture of Jungkook pecking her on the lips.
Everything was so messed up.
"Lisa?" Jisoo's voice broke Lisa from her train of thoughts. The second their eyes met, Lisa broke down into tears not knowing what to do.
"T-This is so messed up. What if they force us on a hiatus? More worse, I don't want you guys to s-suffer because of me," she spoke between sobs. Jisoo hugged the younger, rubbing her back, trying to calm her down.
"It's okay, Lisa. We'll never blame you, you know that. If we go down, we go down together. We're one, there's no Blackpink without the four of us," Jisoo replied, her voice lacing solace. It might seem as if it wasn't a big issue, but it was. Being one of the most popular K-Pop bands, it was difficult to expect fans to accept your relationship. This could ruin their career.
"Whatever happens, don't blame yourself. It's okay if people don't accept your relationship. Falling in love isn't a crime just because you're an idol. We're humans too, Lisa, it's natural," Jisoo broke the hug and looked at the younger who now had red and puffy eyes. "You won't let go. You're strong," she continued, cracking a comforting smile. Lisa nodded, hugging Jisoo again whispering a 'thank you'.
"Lisa? Oh god, are you crying? Aww, come here," their manager kept the files she had held aside before pulling Lisa into a hug after she came back from the meeting. "You really don't have to get this tense. We've spoken to sajangnim. He's okay with it as long as you keep things personal. He doesn't want you to keep it too open, other than that, an official statement has already been released," she broke the hug and held Lisa's shoulders. "Cheer up now." she smiled and patted her arm before leaving her there with Jisoo.
"Have you spoken to Jungkook yet?" Jisoo asked as she crossed her arms across her chest. Lisa's phone rang the second Jisoo asked the question. "Tsk. Speaking of the devil, he calls at the right time. Call me once you're done, let's go back together. I'll be in the cafeteria," Jisoo gleamed a smile leaving the younger. Lisa took a deep breath before answering the phone.
"Hello?" she tried her best to sound normal; not tense like she was right now.
"Hello? Lisa? Namjesus, I'm so glad YG didn't do some shit by snatching your phone or something. I would've burnt the only cap he wore." Jungkook sighed. Lisa could only chuckle in response.
"But Jungkook, what i-if they make us break up later?" Lisa regretted the next moment those words left her mouth.
"You think they can really do that? I'm not giving up on you, Manobangs. We'll get through this together, okay?" Even without her notice, a sob escaped from Lisa's lips. "Are you crying?! No, don't cry! Do wanna meet up? I'll make time,"
"What?! Of course no! At least not now! Sajangnim has told us to keep our relationship as private as possible," she spoke softly.
"It's not our fault though. Wasn't it those stalkers who practically invaded our privacy? I don't want to see you cry now," he cooed and she could almost imagine him pouting. "Uh, I'll call you back, I need to get going, love you," he continued before hanging up.
Even though it might seem dramatic, to say Lisa was afraid was an understatement. It wasn't an overnight fame that has given her the spotlight she dreamt for. It took her a lot more than mere effort. She had to give up on things, learn the language and culture of a country she wasn't even from just to pursue her passion. She didn't want everything to go down the drain just because she did the most natural thing a human would do; falling in love.
"Lalisa Manoban!" she heard someone yell and she swore she could recognize the owner of the voice in a spilt second. Rosé. "You know how worried I was for you?!" she hugged Lisa as tight as she could. "I'm so sorry I wasn't there, I was with Jennie unnie. Her family had come over for a week," she continued.
"It's already, Chaeyoung, it's not a big deal," Lisa hugged her back.
"Let her go already now, it's my turn," Jennie pulled Chaeyoung away from Lisa before quickly hugging the latter. "What did he say? Did he do something outrageous? I mean, he's the satan, he really doesn't care, does he? I'm so done―"
"He said it's okay as long as we keep it private," Lisa cut Jennie, breaking their hug. "I spoke to Jungkook. He had practice today but I guess he made time," she continued. "I really hope nothing goes wrong."
"It won't, Lisa. We can always hope for the best. Let's go." Chaeyoung replied, earning a nod from the younger.
