I woke up on the day of the final rose ceremony feeling like I was going to throw up.
Which, all things considered, is to be expected.
I looked over at Blair's empty bed and thought back to our conversation that first week.
"I'm not looking at this like that." I finally said.
"I don't think any of us can. I mean yeah, I guess the point is to win. But that doesn't mean Niall Horan will magically fall in love with whoever wins the show. My goal is to have a great time and make as many friends as I can, Niall included. I'm not looking for love." I said and she studied me for a second.
"That's really smart." She said, smiling.
What the hell happened? I thought, tucking an arm under my head.
When did I fall for Niall? When did I want to win this? I mean this is The Bachelor, no one really falls in love on The Bachelor.
If you asked me three days ago what I thought would happen today, I would tell you without hesitation that I was getting that final rose.
But now... I'm not so sure.
Niall had been acting weird, well weirder than usual.
There were no secret meet-ups, no off camera conversations, in fact I hadn't seen him since we said goodbye after dropping my family off.
So, that is why I am breaking out in a cold sweat while laying in bed.I had spent the past two days bored and laying around, thinking about today and waiting for it to get here.
"Knock, knock." Someone said.
"Come in!" I sat up, and Elle walked in.
"Hey." She smiled and sat on the edge of my bed.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, thrilled to see someone I knew was on my side.
"I'm your stylist, you didn't think I wo- Are you crying?" She asked, dropping her bags and walking over to my bed.
"I'm just a little overwhelmed." I laughed.
"Well, that is to be expected." She laughed and brushed a tear away.
"I never wanted to win. But today... I don't want this to end." I said, looking at her.
"I bet. It was probably really fun being on a television show-" She said, but I cut her off with the shake of a head.
"No. I don't want this with Niall to end." I said, taking a deep, shaky breath.
"Oh!" She said, her eyes widening.
"Listen, I did not plan to fall in love with him." I said, pointing a finger at her.
"I know." She nodded, and I climbed out of bed and began pacing.
"But then we started talking. And talking. And hanging out. And talking some more. And driving eachother insane." I said, throwing my hands up.
"But he's unbelievable Elle. He is the most down to earth worldwide phenomenon that I have met. I mean he is the only one but still. He is going to do amazing things, and this might be selfish but I want to be there!" I said.
"Mae. Sit down." Elle said with a laugh.
"What if Cameron wins?" I asked, and she laughed loudly.
"Please tell me you don't believe that for a second." She said.
"I haven't seen him all week." I said, picking at a loose string.
"He's been in tons of meetings. I've barely seen him!" She said with a laugh, then slapped a hand over her face.
