It was Christmas Eve and I was meeting Victoria's parents for the first time. I, of course, was very nervous. We were planning on having dinner tonight and I was in charge of cooking the meal. We decided on doing something simple so that I didn't mess it up. It also happens to be her mother's favorite meal. Plain old spaghetti, can never go wrong with that.
She calls out to me. "Babe?" She was cleaning up the rest of the house as I cooked. "Are you almost done? They're almost here."
"Uh... yeah almost done!"
As I finish serving the spaghetti onto four plates, Victoria walks into the kitchen. She walks up to where I'm standing and looks at what I'm doing. She then puts her hand on my arm and gives me a quick peck on the cheek.
"This looks delicious, baby. I can't wait to try it."
I smile then chuckle. "Well, I hope it's good or else I'm saying you made it."
She laughs then crinkles her nose at me. I wink at her.

Some time passes and we hear the doorbell ring. I start getting nervous as this is the first time I get to meet her parents. I don't want to ruin my first impression.
Victoria quickly notices me pretty much having a panic attack. "Hey... hey... it's ok baby, you're gonna do just fine, alright?" She gives me a kiss and puts her hand on my cheek.
I put my hand over hers and keep it there. "I love you so much."
She smiles. "I know."
As she's about to give me another kiss, the doorbell rings once more.
I walk up to the door and proceed to open it. There are two figures standing there. Her mom and her dad.
"Hey! Welcome, come in.. come in."
As they both start walking in, they each greet Victoria.
As I finish closing the door, her mom is the first one to greet me. She's very excited. Her dad then proceeds to greet me.
After all the greeting is over with, we all sit down at the dining table and start eating.
Victoria is the first one to start speaking.  "Wow... this is really good!" She puts her hand on my hand and gives it a squeeze.
Her mom speaks.  "You have a talent for cooking, huh"
I laugh. "Huh, I guess I do!"
Her dad finishes chewing a spoonful of spaghetti.  "So, Victoria has told us a lot about you."
I act surprised.  "Oh really? Good things I hope!"
Victoria giggles.  Then smiles at me.  "Always."

It's been a few hours since dinner and we've been drinking eggnog on the couch as we talked about almost everything.  I feel pretty confident about my first time meeting her parents.  We talked about Victoria's childhood, her rebel stage, all of those good stuff.
~
As another hour passed, we decided to watch Victoria's moms favorite Christmas movie, Home Alone.  Her parents got comfortable on the other side of the couch.  Victoria and I got comfortable on our side of the couch.  As the movie started, I put my hands around Victoria's shoulders and she snuggled against me.  I could see from the corner of my eye Victoria's parents look at us and smile.  I got excited, it's confirmed that her parents liked me.
I whispered in Victoria's ear.  "I love you, so much." Then kissed her head.
She smiled. "I love you more."
Right there at that moment, I realized that this woman right here, I'm going to marry.  And her parents are going to be in the front row rooting for us.  We're perfect for each other and I love her so much.  I know she loves me, I can feel it.  She can feel it.
