Albus goes back to his dorm to see a note sitting on his bed.

Meet me outside.

He recognizes the handwriting right away, it's Scorpius but why would he be sending a letter and not come and get Albus himself? Albus leaves his dorm and rounded a corner, seeing his best friend, Scorpius Malfoy, holding a sign, grinning from ear to ear, asking Albus to the Yule ball. The sign read "Hey, Albus. I know we're best friends but I like you a lot and I'm pretty sure you feel the same, so how about we go to the Yule Ball?"
Albus ran to Scorpius and whispered "yes."

They both beamed and forgot all about their worries.
Albus leaves after talking to Scorpius to find his father, who is still in the Great Hall.
"Daaaaaaaad!!" screamed Albus. "I have a date for the winter formal!"
"Really, who?" asked Harry.
"Uh... Scorpius.." whispered Albus.
"Oh...um...That's amazing!" whispered Harry.
"Yes, it really is amazing, Al," said Ginny. "We'll have to get you a nice suit."
"Uncle Ron told me he had one that he wore to the Yule Ball. I could wear that," Albus says.
"Um m-maybe we can buy you a new one, does that sound fun?" says Harry.
"I guess."

It's 2 days before the Winter Formal and Albus still does not know what he's going to do with Scorpius. He had this thought in his head ever since Scorpius asked Albus to the ball that it was all a joke, one of Scorpius pranks again.

The night before the Winter Formal Albus had a horrible dream.
"There's a ball tomorrow night, we can get my son, Lupus to let us in," whispered Pansy.
"Are you trying to get us killed! Harry Potter will be there!" yelled Nagini.
"What about Scor-"
"Albus wake up! Your running late!" yelled Scorpius.

All Albus could think about all day was why they brought up Scorpius and what they were going to do. But he makes himself feel better by just realizing it was just a dream and it probably won't become real, he hopes anyway. Tonight after the Yule Ball he realizes it wasn't just a dream, they really are coming to get Scorpius but why he thought.
