"Dad..." says Albus Potter.
"Yes, Albus?" says Harry Potter.
"What would you think if I like a boy?"
"Oh Albus, I would love you the same if you fell in love with a vampire," answered Harry
"I think I like Scorpius, father"
"Wait- Malfoy? Scorpius Malfoy?" said Harry.  "Albus..." he whispered.
"I know you hate his father but-"
Harry cuts Albus off and says quietly, "I don't hate Draco Malfoy, we just don't have the best past but if you like his son then I suppose I will try and get along with him."

FLASHBACK

Years after the trio graduated, a half-blood had insisted that Hogwarts have a winter formal, only for the fourth year and up. This year the style will be the 1994 Yule ball, the one the trio themselves attended nearly 30 years ago. This is Albus's second time going to the formal, his last year's date was Lola Chang but she was now going with a Ravenclaw, Finley Thomas-Finnigan, so he couldn't ask her again. Even his little sister who was only a third-year had a date. His brother was going with Molly Thomas-Finnigan, his girlfriend of 3 years, it seemed like everyone had a date except him.
It wasn't like he didn't know who he wanted to go with. It just homosexuality was still not a very common thing at Hogwarts. He knew his family would still love him if he loved a girl, boy, or even a vampire, he was still extremely nervous. He had no idea if his best friend even reciprocated his affections, let alone was ready to go out publicly to a dance together.
Until the next day when Albus was taking a walk and rounded a corner, seeing his best friend, Scorpius Malfoy, holding a sign, grinning from ear to ear, asking Albus to the Yule ball. The sign read "Hey, Albus. I know we're best friends but I love you and I'm pretty sure you feel the same, so how about we go to the Yule Ball?" Albus ran to Scorpius and whispered "yes." They both beamed and forgot all about their worries.
