(Narator steps in from the right slowly and as he begins he travels to the centre stage)

Narrator: the road was never ending according to Chris. The hoizon seemed to go on forever and there was only a certain amount of 'help' that Ray could do all that time. But still they travelled and kept on, Ray stayed true to his word and stayed with him. They was no denying that this was something they had to accomplish together otherwise there would be like there was no point to what was left of there changed lives. Chris had grown to wonder and think of all the things he missed. Some didnt make any sense to him, TV, work, and the way his slippers felt around his feet; why was that important to me? he asked himself constantly. He was thinking of the things he felt he should be thinking. That any 'ordinary' person would. So he distacted his mind so much so that he tried to think of things he should miss. Some were justified. For example he felt like waking up in the morning wasnt the same anymore, that walking was boring and made him dilusional. He would never be able to think of the things he thought of to make him happy, because they seemed to feel like things that he had not experienced, like they werent his memories, they were something else, detachted from what he thought wasnt real.

There was less meaning to the things he thought, because he felt like there was no prupose in thinking it. Over and over he kept telling himself to stop thinking just for a while. Not because he couldnt, but because he wanted to know what it was like to not be able to think, to worry or to confuse what he had as something precious.

(Narrator moves closer to the edge of the stage as he continues, slowly)

He said to himself  thoughts just happen but thinking, is choice.

Each time he said that to himself it seemed to change his belief system, his way of thinking for the smallest  amount of time he could possible compute. This, made him remember that he was doing this out of choice and not, out of a thought that just occured to him at some point in time. Helping him focus on what he wanted to do. It wasnt a need, or instinct, or even superficial superstition. It was what he believed, (Narrator stops on the edge of the stage) he was meant to do.
