"Try to keep up, Lumine!" I yelled as I ran away from the young traveler. "You won't be able to beat me if I'm this far away!" I chuckled, still running and jumping from roof to roof.
In my hand, I held her precious hair accessory. The glistening petals shined like starlights under the sun. I stopped in my tracks to wave the object to catch her attention. Yes, teasing Lumine is the best, besides fighting. The traveler panted as she tried to keep up with me. With those short legs of hers, it would be impossible to catch me if I didn't stop.
"Give it back, Childe!" Lumine shouted, her hand ready to throw her sword at me. But being in Liyue harbor with a sword is dangerous. Someone might get hit instead of me. I raise my hands in defense, hoping it would stop the traveler from actually throwing her blade.
"Whoa there. Missy," I said. "If you want this so badly, then meet me at the top of Mt. Tianheng." With that, I continued running, ignoring Lumine's complaints.
Half an hour has passed. I sat on a rock while playing with the hair ornament, lifting it to let the sun shine on it. The metallic flower seemed to glitter with joy under the sun, just like her whenever she's happily determined. Suddenly, I felt a pebble hit the back of my head. I turned around and saw that my little companion finally arrived. She wasn't panting as I hoped, proof that she took her time on this particular journey.
"Finally, I've been bored lately and wanted some entertainment," I said as I stood up, lightly throwing the hair clips in my hand to show her I still had them.
"This isn't funny, Childe. Give them back." Lumine said with a sigh and held out her hand, palm facing up.
Did the traveler think I'd return it that easily? Surely, that wasn't the case since I had no intention of doing so. Not without some fun, at least.
"You want them?" I teased. "Come and get them." I closed my hand with the accessories inside as I challenge Lumine to take them from me.
She walked towards me, and I lifted my arm so she wouldn't be able to reach my hand. Lumine held my sleeve, attempting to pull it down. But it didn't work when she lost her footing and grabbed my collar to balance herself. Our noses touched when my head got pulled to look at her. All I could do was smile when I received another teasing opportunity.
"If you wanted me that badly, Missy. You could have just asked." I smirked when her cheeks turned pink from embarrassment. "And here I was hoping I could spar with you today. But I guess you wanted something else."
When she had enough, Lumine suddenly pulled away. She pulled the sleeve on my raised arm and bit me. That was a real shocker. I never knew she could do that. I released the hair clips, and she caught them before they fell to the ground.
"If you wanted to spar so much, then stop targeting me and start looking for someone else! HMP!" Lumine yelled and ran away. Once she was out of sight, I smiled to myself and chuckled at her reactions.
"Oh, but if I targeted someone else, then I wouldn't be able to show you how I love someone," I whispered into the wind. Only the gentle breeze will ever know what I hide under this battle-hungry mask.
