"Wah! This flower is wonderful!" I shouted in glee when I created another species of sweet flower. This one owns a light and calming scent. "This would be perfect for anyone having sleeping problems." I drank a glass of water then proceeded to jot down my findings. I infused a sweet flower seed with lavender and carraway essence, both known for their calming properties. I cultivated the seeds with extreme care in a controlled environment before experimenting to see if it can survive even in the coldest places.

"As for its edibility, I should try turning these into candies. I'm sure anyone would enjoy them." After writing everything down, I placed a pitcher of water next to the flowers. In case they need hydrating. When I finished my task, I went out of the lab to ask Albedo if he knows how to make candies.

As I walked the silent corridors, I found Albedo walking towards me. He must have only returned. Maybe it's best to ask him later. But for now -

"Good work today, Albedo. How is your research?" I greeted him slowly and quietly than usual. Perhaps, not sleeping for three days should be avoided. But the sweet flowers I created were worth the sleepless nights.

"Nothing much for now, I'm afraid." He replied and smiled at me in greeting. "So I thought of returning for a bit and assist anyone who needs it." His voice was calm and crisp. It made my ears flap with glee. And the fact that he was willing to help anyone today. Noticing the excitement in my ears, he smiled again. "Do you need help with anything?"

Feeling embarrassed that he saw through me by my ears, I blushed and stuttered. "A-as a matter of fact, I do." I breathed deeply to collect my thoughts. It was best to let him rest for a bit. Perhaps a different way to ask him would be best. "Do you happen to have a recipe book for candies?"

Albedo seems to be in deep thought when I asked him, trying to recall if he had such a book. After a few moments, Albedo asked me to follow him into his study, where he kept all his books. I waited by his desk while he glided his gloved finger over the leatherbound spines, searching for the recipe book. I watched him as he walked towards me, book in hand. He carefully flipped through the pages and smiled when he found the candy recipe.

"There are three kinds of candy recipes here," he said and gave me the book. "I'm assuming you want to make candies out of the sweet flowers you cultivated?" I silently nodded and smiled brightly at him. "Then allow me to help. I have nothing better to do anyway."

"If that is alright with you, Albedo," I replied.

We headed back to my lab, feeling very excited. When we entered, I showed Albedo the new sweet flowers I created. They were white like any flower of their kind but had faded pink spots near the center. Albedo stopped to analyze the scent it was producing from afar while I placed the book on the table next to the flowers.

"The scent alone makes one feel at ease. Were you going to make candies that would give the same effect?" Albedo asked.

"Yes. I thought, since there are still people who have trouble sleeping, maybe they would enjoy something sweet and calming." I reply while making space on the table. I didn't notice Albedo approach me and caging me between him and the table.

"A-albedo?!" I stuttered in shock when I turned around and found Albedo a little too close to me. "I-is something w-wrong?"

Albedo's eyes were half-lidded as he looked at me. What has gotten into him? I tried pushing him away, but his strong hand held both of my wrists in place. With the other, he slowly caressed my cheek and went past my glasses to gently touch my ear.

I squeaked at the tingling sensation in my ear. My senses turned very sensitive at Albedo's proximity. The situation is getting out of hand. Even more so when he slowly leaned towards me. I struggled to free my hands, but he is well-built even for an alchemist. It was proof that he was no ordinary scholar. Albedo was somewhat an adventurer, given how he conducts his researches. Another factor to add is my lack of sleep, making me weaker to even yell for help. In my final attempt to break free, I pushed the table instead, hoping something would break and alert anyone outside. The tray of experimental flowers fell along with the pitcher I left next to it. The sound of the metal tray falling and the breaking glass made Albedo return to his senses. He releases me, shocked at what he did, and stepped back.

"My apologies, Sucrose." He said sincerely. "I don't know what came over me. Please excuse me."

Albedo runs out of the laboratory. What happened? I ask myself. I was still panting from the embarrassing event. Not knowing the answer, I started cleaning up the fallen mess. When I inspected the flowers, they were all wet and had lost their scent. What could have caused Albedo's abnormal behavior?
