It's a nice sunny day here in Vancouver Canada.
Today I'm volunteering at The Elders home, again. I actually spend most of my time here helping out the elders. I cook them meals, I sometimes help clean their rooms, and play games with them.
Anything is better then staying at the house all day. Keep in mind when I say "house" I mean the Foster House where me and 15 other kids live.
I like to spend most of my time here at the Elders Home or reading in a quite space.
Right now I am on break and reading in the staff room.
"Hey Sugar." Mabel says to me while taking the seat across from me.
Mabel is the absolute nicest person I ever met! She is the boss of this whole place, she lives here with the residence just in case they need anything or something happens in the middle of the night.
"Hey Mabel." I greet her with a smile.
"What are you reading this week?" she asks
I put my book mark on the page I'm on and close it and her the book.
"Ooh, 'The Fault In Our Stars'. What is this one about?"
"It's about this girl named Hazel and she has cancer, but she meets this boy named Augustus Waters at a Cancer Support Group and apparently her story is 'about to be completely rewritten.' It is an amazing book so far!" I gush
"It does sound very interesting so far." she says smiling and sipping on her coffee.
"Well I should probably get back to work." I tell her getting up and putting my book back in my bag.
"Alright Hun, just let me know when your ready to go back to the house and I'll drop you off." she says patting my arm.
"I will." I say smiling down at her.
After playing three games of Monopoly and two games of Poker I decide it's time to head back to the house...
I walk out of the game room and down the hall to Mabel's living area and knock on her door.
"Come in!" She yells
"Mabel?" I say not knowing where she is.
"In here Hun!" She calls out.
I hear her near the bathroom so I walk towards there. As I get to it the door is open and she is just finishing washing her hands.
"I was just wondering if you could bring me back to the house now?" I ask her politely
"Yeah, for sure! Just let me grab my keys and my purse." she says smiling and wipes get hands on her jeans.
The drive back to the house was silent, but it was a comfortable silence.
As we pull up to the house she puts the car in park and I unbuckle my seatbelt.
"Thank you!" I say getting out of the car.
"Anytime sweetie!" She says and waves goodbye.
As soon as I step into the house it gets instantly loud.
There is yelling going on from the living room so I walk into there to see what all the fuss is about. As I get into the living room I see everyone sitting on couches and chairs yelling at the TV and each other.
"What are you guys doing?" I ask plopping on couch.
"It's the AGT" Chad says sitting next to me.
My eyes go wide and I pull out my cell phone and look at the date June, 13, 2014
I read."Holy crap! I can't believe I forgot about the AGT!" I say out loud.
