*BEEP-BEEP-BEEP!*
I groan and pull my cellphone out from under my pillow and turn my alarm off.
I look at my lock screen,
June, 14, 2014 10:00am I read.
After I am done reading it I decide to try and sleep in today, so I just lock my phone again and try to go back to sleep. Approximately two minutes later my bedroom door flys open and my whole foster family comes in singing 'happy birthday', even Lucas!
When they are finished singing they clear a path and Chad comes walking in with a birthday cake in the shape of the number 18. The cake is so adorable, it is definitely homemade!
I close my eyes and make a wish then blow out all eighteen candles.
"Thanks you guys!" I say throwing off my blanket and getting up to start a group hug.
After the group hug everyone says 'happy birthday' once again then they all pile out of my little room.
When everyone is out I see a little envelope on my dresser, I pick it up and pull out a piece of paper that reads
"Are you ready for your present? - Chad"
I wonder what that boy has in mind? I walk across the hall to his room and knock on his door "Chad?" I call his name, no answer.
I knock again "Chad?" I say letting myself I to his room. I walk in and he is no where to be seen, instead of him being there I find another envelope on the end of his bed. I pick it up and open it;
"I knew you would come looking here! You are so predictable :-P! You have to try harder than this if you want to find me.
-Chad"
"Damn it Chad!" I say out loud.
I walk down stairs and into the living room Riley is just sitting there watching TV "Have you seen Chad?" I ask him.
"I think he went out back" he says not taking his eyes off the TV.
"Thanks" I say walking through the hallway and kitchen to the back door. I open the door and it is a nice sunny day outside. I walk around the back yard but can't find him, I find yet another envelope. I open it up and read
"So close! I knew Riley would rat me out! Man, I should be a fortune teller! Either way you are getting so close! Happy looking! - Chad"
"Oh my god!" I say yell and lay down on the nice green grass.
I lay there for about five minutes until the somebody blocks the sun from my face. I open my eyes and look up to find Amelia standing there with a silly smile on her face. She sticks out her hand silently telling me to take it, so I do. She pulls me onto my feet and hands me another envelope "Chad told me to give this to you" she says and walks back inside. I groan and open it and read it out loud
"Giving up already!? The fun has only begun! Would you like clues? Well I guess you do since you practically gave up! Here it is;
Old, fun, grey. Everyday is like yesterday. Wish I was younger.
Meet me here when you find out!
-Chad"
What the hell!? This boy is some other kind of crazy! I walk inside and sit at the dining room table looking at the note.
"Old, fun, grey. Everyday is like yesterday. Wish I was younger." I repeat to myself thinking of what it could be.
"What's that?" Someone asks taking a seat beside me. I look to see that it is Lucas.
"Oh, it's just some note Chad gave me- well Chad gave it to Amelia to give to me." I tell him.
"Why?" He asks
