The final plan

Part 4

Part 4:
The case turns out to be a bit more complicated than Chloe first had thought and before She knows it the time is already 1. "Shit!" She says in a high pitch voice as She realizes what the time is.

Ella is standing beside her in the lab going over some evidence, looks up and gives her a questioning look. "What?" She asks with a high eyebrow.

"Oh um... I have to... I have to go. I didn't realize what the time was. Um, I will be back in one hour But I really have to go now. You keep looking for something We can use. See you later." Chloe ramel before She left the room and practically ran out to her car.

Once she pulls up at LUX She has probably broken Every law posible. But right now She doesn't care. Chloe takes the elevator up to the penthouse and for every passing second She gets a feeling that something is really wrong. When the elevator Doors open She practically jumps out of the elevator. "Lucifer?!" She says in a high voice walking over to the couch. When She didn't get a response and he isn't on the couch She starts to get worried and starts to look through the whole apartment. "Lucif..." She starts But stops as She find him on the bed. Walking over to him She soon realizes that he is asleep and She lets out a breath She didn't know She was holding. Chloe debates if She should make something to eat and wake him up or if She should let him sleep. She soon decides to let him sleep and walk over to the kitchen to do something to eat for herself.

When She is finished with her meal She takes her plate and walks over to the couch where She sits down and starts eating. She is half way through her meal when she thinks She hears something from the bedroom. Thinking it's Lucifer who has woken up She stands up and walks over to the bedroom. As soon as She enters the room her heart stops and before She knows it She has run over to the bedside where Lucifer is lying.

Lucifer is still asleep or past out But he is tossing and turning in the bed, like he was having some sort of bad dream. His face is twisted in one of pain and frightens. He is drowned in sweat and both his clothes and the bed sheets are soaking wet.

Chloe reaches down and places her hand on his shoulder softly shaking him. "wake up Lucifer." She tries But he just keeps turning. "Lucifer! Wake up!" She says again, this time higher and shakes him a bit harder.

This time Lucifer does wake up with a jolt and sits up in the bed. Before looking around the room with fright in his eyes. As his eyes land on Chloe they seem to soften a little and he puts a hand to his head before laying back down in the bed and letting out a long breath.

Chloe sits down on the edge of the bed and puts a hand on Lucifer's arm. "Are you okay?" She asks in a low voice not much higher than a whisper, not wanting to make his headache any worse with any high noises.

Lucifer looks up at her. "Not really, no." He answered honestly before trying to sit up. But as he does a New wave of pain shoots through his head. He puts a hand against his temple and grunts out in pain.

Chloe quickly pushes him back down in the bed and puts a hand against his chin as he closes his eyes trying to shut the pain out. "I will be right back." She says softly before standing up and walking out of the room.

A few minutes later Chloe walks back into the bedroom with the leftovers from her lunch and a glass of water. She puts the plate and the waterglass down on the nightstand before helping Lucifer sit up in bed and put a pillow behind his back.

"Thank you." Lucifer says in a weak voice. But as Chloe places the plate with food in his lap he gives her a sceptical look. "I am not hungry." He says and pushes the plate away, almost as if he was disgusted by it.

Chloe gives him a worried look and places her hand on his to make him look at her. When she has his attention she starts to softly stroke the back of his hand. "I know, but... you need to eat. Please." She says and places her hand on his cheek.

Lucifer melts into her touch and closes his eyes for a moment. He really didn't feel like eating something was a good idea, because he felt how the nausea was starting to build up just by the smell of food. When he opens his eyes again he pushes the plate even further away before the nausea takes over completely. "No, I don't want to." Lucifer says in a weak but somehow desperate voice.

"Lucifer please, you need all the energy you can get, I mean look at you. You have practically slept through the first half of the day. I know that you are hurting and that you probably feel miserable right now. Because believe me you look like hell." She gives him a small smile as she says the last part and Lucifer lets out a small chuckle. "But you still need to eat something. It doesn't have to be much, just a few pieces."

He can see the genuine concern in her eyes and decide that it is best to do as she says. "Fine just a few bites then." He mumel and drag the plate closer to him. He takes a few bites at a slow pace.

Chloe gives him a bright smile and leans closer so she can place a soft kiss on his cheek. "Thank you Lucifer. I will be right back alright? I am just gonna go and get a wet towel for you." She hears Lucifer mumble something in reply that sounds like "great" as she walks away and leaves the room.

Walking back in and sitting down on the bed beside Lucifer again she lifts the wet towel and softly dabs his face with it. Lucifer lets out a soft sound of comfort as the towel is pressed against his forehead. "Thank you detective." He mumble as he closes his eyes and leans into the tutch.

Chloe smiles softly at him as she continues to press the towel against his head. "No problem." She whispers when she sees that Lucifer is about to drift off to sleep again. When she is shure Lucifer is fully asleep she helps him to lay back down in the bed and open his already soaked shirt. When she is sure that he is comfortable and has everything he can posible need when he wakes up within reach she places a soft kiss on his forehead and strokes his sweaty hair out of his eyes. "I love you." she whispers and gives his hand a gentle squeeze.

Just as Chloe leaves the bedroom to start getting ready to go back to work her phone starts vibrating. She picks up the phone and answers it as she packs her handbag. "Decker."

"Chloe it's me Ella. Where are you?" Chloe hears Ella's voice through the phone.

"Hi Ella. I am on my way to my car now. So, I will be at the station in about 15 minutes." She answers, not wanting to give her position away, at the same time she enters the elevator and presses the button for the bottom floor.

"Great! I find something that you should take a look at." Ella says with excitement in her voice and Chloe has to smile for herself.

"Great jobb Ella! See you soon." She says before hanging up the phone and walking against her car, to drive back to the station.
