Love Bug (A Ninjago Story)

"Cole when are you going to tell him?" Jay asks his best friend who just chickened out from confessing his love to Kai.

Cole grumbles. "Later," He answers.

"When's later? You always say later," Jay said.

"Just later," Cole said.

"Ninja come to the brig," Sensei Wu's voice came over the coms.

The ninja all arrived at the brig and Cole stole a glance at Kai who was listening to Sensei Wu with a sort of bored expression.

"I need you all to get rid of a bug infestation at a daycare," Sensei Wu said. "What are we exterminators?" Kai asks annoyed and the others voice their agreements. "These are very dangerous bugs and no matter what I don't want any of them to bite you. That is the most important part to not bite you," Sensei said sternly and the ninja just nodded choosing to get it over with.

We got there and boy was the place filled with bugs. "Hey want to make a bet? Whoever squishes the most bugs gets no chores for a week," Kai said with a confident grin. All the ninja like the sound of that and got to work.

They blasted and froze the bugs that looked like a dark pink Egyptian scarab with those pointy claw teeth. It was honestly pretty fun crushing all the bugs.

Once done and out of breath they smiled.

"Okay who won? I got nineteen," Lloyd said.

"Dang it I only got eighteen," Kai groans.

"I got fifteen," Jay said sheepish.

"I got nineteen too," Cole said smiling.

"I got sixteen," Nya said proudly.

Zane's brow furrowed in concern looking around.

"I got eighteen as well, but my calculations say there should be one more," he said and everyone looked around for the last bug.

Suddenly there's a scream of pain as Kai put his hand on his neck and threw off the last bug that Zane quickly froze as the red ninja's eyes suddenly rolled to the back of his head.

Cole quickly caught him and Zane checked Kai's neck. "The bug bit him!" Zane hisses and everyone worries as Cole tried getting Kai to wake up.

"Kai? Kai come on buddy wake up," Cole said as said ninja slowly began opening his eyes. They opened and locked onto Cole's relieved green eyes. They all saw as some sort of sparkle passed through Kai's eyes before he stood up on his own to legs. "Kai thank god are you okay?" Nya asks her brother only to be ignored as he kept staring at Cole who was feeling a little awkward with the staring. "Hey Kai? You okay?" Cole asks. Kai smiles wide and nodded.

"Yep thanks to you catching me by the way have I ever said how handsome you are?" Kai said like it was totally normal and everyone freezes as they realized what they said and Cole blushes bright red. Kai just smiles flirty at Cole who's eyes were wide and a blushing mess. "Kai are you okay?" Cole asks slowly and took a step back from Kai who took another step towards him still smiling flirty. Kai then wrapped his arms around Cole in a tight hug.

"Okay that bug definitely did something to him right?" Jay asks looking at the other boys who nodded in agreement while Nya was trying to get her brother off of Cole who was as still as a statue.

"God it's like a koala," Nya groans. "No I want to hug Cole," Kai said pouty. He then leaned in quickly and kisses Cole on the lips.

Nya screeches while the others laughed at Cole's expression of utter dumbfounded ness before he began leaning into it.

"COLE BROOKSTONE DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT KISSING MY BROTHER BACK," Nya screams at Cole who got terrified of the water ninja and pulled away.

"Aww Nya why?" Kai whines. "We are taking you to Wu," Nya said leaving expecting her brother to follow only to turn and facepalms at the sight. "Oh come on!" She groans seeing Kai had jumped into Cole's arms bridal style with a loving look in his eyes.

"So strong," Kai flirts. "Kai you can walk on your own," Nya said frustration clear. "But I want Cole to carry me," Kai said. "Cole put my brother down right now," Nya said.

Cole blinks thinking for a second before smiling slightly. "Nah it's quick getting back to the monastery and we don't know if he's going to suddenly fall again from whatever the bug did. I will carry him," Cole said and Kai smiles joyfully snuggling his head into Cole's chest as Nya's mouth is left completely open.

Cole carried Kai back out to the sonic radar and sat with him in the cock pit. "Cole Kai can ride with me," Nya growls. "I think he fell asleep don't want to wake him," Cole said quickly and closed the door as Nya fumes red.

Zane, Lloyd, and Jay all watched with worry and amusement.

"So how long until Nya murders Cole?" Lloyd asks.

"I give it a hour," Jay shrugs.

"My calculations say half a hour at this rate," Zane said.
