Chapter Two

Bum woke up with a very sore head and a dry throat. She opened her mouth to say something, but all that came out was a quiet, broken croak. She slowly sat up, ignoring the pang of dizziness, and checked out her surroundings. She was in a small, dimly lit room. The air was warm but not uncomfortably so. A shard of light peeked out from under the door, and the faint lyrics of a song could be heard in the distance. Bum seemed to be sitting on some sort of soft tatami mat, with a comfy blanket covering her. Had she not been so frightened or confused, Bum might have found this room nice or even cozy.
Looking to her right, she found a glass of water and a bottle of pills. She picked the pills up curiously- painkillers, probably prescription by the long list of side effects and warnings on the back. She rolled it around in her hand curiously. They were probably for her headache, which was kind of whoever took her here.
Wait- who did take her here? Where is she? The memories slowly flooded back. Oh Sangwoo. That pretty girl who had taken her out- on a date and then knocking her unconscious. Bum gritted her teeth. What the fuck did she want with her?
Pushing her anger out of her mind for a moment, Bum reached out to the glass of water. Her headache was getting worse and worse, and if those pills could help her then she'd take them. She paused, however, when she heard a soft clinking.
She looked down and saw with a gasp that there was a long, thick chain attached to her ankle. She wiggled her foot again, grimacing as the chain jingled. She was shackled to a hook on the wall, and it definitely didn't look breakable.
Well, it wasn't like Sangwoo had left her in a cold basement and broke her legs. It could be worse. Bum sighed deeply and lifted the glass of water to her lips, moistening her throat. She took long sips, then popped 2 white pills in her mouth. She waited for a moment, then decided these were really painkillers and not poison. Bum laid down, hoping to get some rest before Sangwoo came back.

No such luck. Just as Bum closed her eyes, the door opened. Bum's eyes snapped open as Sangwoo stepped in, eyes lighting up at the sight of Bum awake.
"Oh, you're awake! Finally! You were out for quite awhile." Sangwoo knelt down and brushed the bangs out of Bum's pallid face, ignoring the way she flinched violently. "How are you feeling? Did you take some meds?"

"Yeah, I took two." Bum's voice was still a bit scratchy, but she managed to spit the words out. "My head hurts really bad..."

"I'm sorry, love." Sangwoo kissed Bum's sweaty forehead. "That's a small side effect from the drugs. It'll wear off after a while."

Bum grimaced. "Love? Listen, Sangwoo. You have to explain what's going on! I don't understand- why did you drug me? Where am I? Why are you... professing your love to me?" Her face scrunched up in confusion. "I don't get it. I'm scared."

"Don't be afraid." Sangwoo cooed. "I know things might seem confusing at first... But you'll understand soon." She fixed Bum with a comforting smile. "You see Bum, I've been in love with you for years." Her grin stretched wider at Bum's shocked expression. "Our eyes met at college- and I knew you were the one. But I was too nervous to talk to you... So I bided my time, watching you, following you, for 3 years. I finally got to talk to you... I was thinking about 'taking you home' with me someday, but we were so close that all my plans flew out the window, and I needed to have you with me immediately. As for where you are... well, it should be pretty obvious. You're at our home."

"Your home, you mean." Bum corrected shakily. But Sangwoo shook her head playfully.

"Nope! It's our home now. You're staying with me from now on. Don't worry, I'll make sure you'll be totally comfortable. You won't have to work another day in your life, and you'll never have to see your disgusting, evil uncle again." She reassured Bum, her face darkening on the last sentence.

"How... How do you know about my uncle?" Bum squeaked. Sangwoo just gave her a gentle smile and stroked her hair.

"I told you, I've been following you for years. I saw your uncle attack you outside your apartment... I've never felt such hatred towards another human being in my life." She growled angrily, fury warping her pretty features. "I'll kill him."

"Sangwoo... You really don't have to do this for me. Really, I'm fine." Bum implored. But her captor shook her head and sighed.

"I don't get it, Bum-ie. Why are you rejecting me? I'll take care of you. I've seen you cry when you're alone. So lonely, so afraid, so sad. Don't you want to escape your hellish life? When you're with me, you'll never have to fear him again. I'll protect you." She soothed. Cupping Bum's face lightly, kissed her forehead softly. "I love you, Yoon Bum." She murmured softly against her skin.

"But... you're straight, right?" Bum asked uncertainly. Sangwoo stared at her as if she asked the stupidest question in the world. Then she burst out laughing, a joyous, almost incredulous laugh.

"Are you serious? I say I love you and I kiss you, and you think I'm fully straight?" She shook her head. "Well, I do only sleep with men. But then I met you and my thoughts changed. I started fantasizing about you instead. You're a special exception." Bum blushed brightly and looked at the floor. "You are, Bum." She crooned. "Don't be embarrassed, sweetheart." She lifted Bum's face gently, staring her dead in the eyes. There was a tense beat, then Sangwoo leaned in and kissed Bum on the lips.

Her lips were smooth and glossy from expensive lipgloss. She tasted sweet, like fresh cherries and a touch of vanilla from her lipgloss. Bum's lips on the other hand, were cracked and dry from not using them in so long. The kiss was much more gentle and loving than their previous kiss in the alleyway. Sangwoo licked at Bum's bottom lip, asking for enterance. Bum hesitantly opened her mouth and let her slip her tongue into her mouth. Despite it being with a weirdly beautiful psychopath, Bum felt herself relaxing into the kiss. She shouldn't be enjoying this. But then Sangwoo swiped a soft thumb over Bum's cheek, and she was gone. Bum started actively kissing back, moving her tongue against the younger woman's. Sangwoo gave an excited moan, spurring her on to kiss Bum even deeper. She pushed her fully down onto the mattress and straddled her then waist, not even stopping their kiss while doing so.

"I love you. I love you so much." Sangwoo repeated like a mantra against Bum's lips, pressing kisses to the corner of her mouth.

She stopped kissing her to look at her expression. She was an absolute wreck- lips shiny from spit and Sangwoo's lipgloss and kiss swollen, face flushed a gorgeous pink, eyes glazed over.

"Why'd you stop...?" Bum murmured dazedly, looking up at Sangwoo with a slightly confused expression. Sangwoo felt like her heart was going to stop.

"I'm never going to let you go." Sangwoo mumbled, balling her hands into fists in the sheets. Bum tilted her head as if confused.

"What? You were speaking too quietly. I'm sorry, what did you say?" She asked.

Sangwoo had a savage, unhinged look on her face. "I said... I am. Never. Going to. Let. You. Go." Sangwoo repeated slowly. Bum blanched at her words. "No one else can have you. You're mine, and mine alone. Even if it means locking you away forever."

"Sangwoo, no. I don't want to be locked away forever. I want to go home." Bum protested. But Sangwoo shook her head again.

"No, no, no. This is your home now. And your uncle can't hurt you here. Don't you want that? To be free from your uncle? To not have to work or struggle anymore? To finally be happy?"

Bum started crying softly, tears rolling down her cheeks as she stared up at Sangwoo. "I won't be happy here locked up like a prisoner, Sangwoo." She pleaded. "I don't want to be here."

Wrong thing to say. Sangwoo's eyes widened in shock, then narrowed in anger. "You may not understand now... But I promise you, soon you'll be the happiest in your life here." She gripped the back of Bum's head and forced her lips on hers, tongue forcing into her mouth. Bum weakly tried to push her away, but Sangwoo held her hands above her head. When Bum renewed her struggles, Sangwoo huffed in exasperation. "Don't be like that." She chided. She grasped Bum's hair tightly, then slammed her head onto the floor, hard. "You'll see soon, sweetheart. It's okay. I won't hurt you." She cooed before Bum lost consciousness, blood pooling on the floor from her wound.
