John, Paul, and Stu sat in the hottub, all in swim trunks. John kept shooting Paul looks, his face slightly flushed and his ears a bright shade of red.
"So Paul," Stu started, peeking over the tops of his ray bans, "Do you cuff your jeans?"
Paul blinked confusedly as John slapped Stu on the arm. "If my pants are too long, then I cuff them."
Stu sighed and gave John a pointed look. John rolled his eyes. It was like they had had a whole conversation without opening their mouths once.
"Ohhhh- kay," Paul started, looking confusedly between Stu and John. "I feel like there's something you're not telling me."
Stu sighed again, "Y'know, do you cuff your jeans? Finger guns, peace signs, listen to sweater weather, all that stuff."
"Stu, just fuck off. He obviously doesn't," John said, mildly exasperated, but his ears a fiery red.
Stu held up his hands in surrender, "Well sorry, I was trying to help you, John."
Paul sat there, feeling like an awkward third wheel. He didn't understand one bit of what they were saying.
"What the hell are you guys talking about? You realise that I'm still here, right?" Paul said, pouting and folding his arms across his chest.
"Jesus, Paul," Stu sighed. He sighs a lot, Paul noticed. "I was trying to ask you if you-"
John put his hand over Stu's mouth and laughed nervously, "Ignore him, Macca. He's being stupid. STU STOP LICKING MY HAND!"
Paul tried to stifle a laugh as John pulled back his hand in disgust.
"I was trying to ask you if," Stu said once his mouth was free, John stared at him with a pleading expression on his face, "if you like... cats." He finished. John let out a relived sigh.
Paul raised one thin eyebrow, "I know that's not what you were going to ask me, but yes. I like cats. I like dogs better, but cats are cool."
"John loves cats."
John nodded, "I do. I had a cat called Tim for the longest time. I don't know what happened to him..." John's voice got soft and dreamy towards the end, something Paul decided he liked very much.
"Do you like dudes? Like, romantically?" Stu asked quickly.
"STU!" John yelled, slapping his arm harshly and glaring at him.
Stu stared at Paul expectantly.
"Uhhh... I- uhhh,"
"...yeah?" Paul said nervously, not daring to look at John.
"Huh," Stu said, "didn't expect that."
"So you guys aren't mad?" Paul asked, still not looking at either of them. I just came out to two guys I've known for barely a month...
John scoffed, "Mad? Course not Macca! That would be hypocritical, now wouldn't it?"
Paul glanced up at John, who was smirking triumphantly with his arms folded across his chest.
"Don't get me wrong, I still dig girls, but boys," John sighed dreamily, "they're something else."
Stu laughed and rolled his eyes, which were now fully exposed due to the lack of sunglasses. He was pretty. Well, he would've been if he hadn't been sitting next to John, who was downright gorgeous.
"What about you, Stu?" Paul asked, no longer scared.
Stu grinned, "Yeah. I am. Me and John actually used to date."
