"Little one..." I felt a soft, irrational texture on my nose, and grimaced.
"I'm tired and a can't get up.."
I felt it again and recognized it as a feather.
"You don't need LifeAlert, Yugi."
"Have you been up late watching reality TV again?" I said, and sat up, stretching.
"Psst! No!" Yami said hiding his fake smile. I shook my head in hopelessness.
"Whatever Yami-Hey, did Grandpa write the note last night, the excuse for school? I fell asleep.." I scratched my head, and walked over to get my hairbrush eyeing Yami as he twiddled with my sock drawer.
"He did. He also-" Yami kept talking, but my attention to his conversation got caught off when I heard some faint whispers.
"Yami did you hear that?"
"Hear what?"
"Nevermind...please, continue."
Yami then went into a detailed explanation of how pancakes were made in the spirit world.
The whispers came again, and this time I focused all my attention on it to understand. I heard a few words, but faintly.
"Come....Us....Speaker...." I felt myself being shaked by the shoulders, and opened my eyes to see a worried Yami.
"Yugi? Are you alright, you were sitting here silent for a few minutes!"
I turned my head, and thought for a moment ignoring Yami's concerned pleas.
What if I'm going insane?
"I heard them, Yami."
I saw his eyes widen and shock. He started pacing, asking me to explain. I told him the three words I heard.
"They must want us to visit them..."
"How do you figure?"
"They were most likely saying 'Come to us, Ghost speaker'."
I nodded in understanding. But my thoughts then focused on something else.
"Why would they be calling me?"
"They most likely need our help..." Yami stopped pacing and put his hand to his chin in deep thought.
"Yugi, I think we should go there."
"W-What? Are you crazy? I don't think that's safe, and even if it is, how would we get to the spirit world?" Questions tumbled out of my mouth, and yet I had plenty more to ask. It took lots of willpower to hold them back.
"I could bring you, if you trust me. Do you trust me, Yugi?" Yami tilted his head. He wanted the honest truth wether it hurt or not.
"Y-Yes of course I trust you!" I stood up in an instant and walked up to Yami. I tilted my head slightly so I could look him in the eye.
"Good..." Yami turned his head for a moment.
"Yami?"
Silence. I heard him inhale deeply, and then stare at me.
"Yugi, do you like anyone?" I heard other questions under it, but it got muddled with the mix of emotions.
"I-I.." I shuffled my feet nervously.
I do like someone..
But I wouldn't tell Yami that, of course.
"I-I don't really like girls, if you know what I mean..." I said, deciding to come straight out.
I saw a glimpse of a smile come from Yami-one that would only come when victory came.
"Okay little one. Take my hands.." Yami outstretched his hands and I took then-eyeing them tightly clasped together.
"Here we go..."Yami looked down at the ground and mumbled a few words. I closed my eyes and braces myself for a storm, or a rush of wind. After a few seconds I peeked an eye open to see we were somewhere else, and there apparently wasn't a storm.
"Okay Yugi, we're here."
Here was a tiny cottage-structure house of some sort, with small windows being shaded by blue curtains. A bitty table was crammed in the one of the corners, with a teeny sized fridge under it. A bed was in another corner, and a two pots one filled with water and one filled with....ew. The last corner had a miniature bookcase, which was over flowering with books stacked on top of it, in it, and beside it.
We stood in the middle.
The whole house was about the size of my bedroom.
"Yami, is this..?"
He nodded. So this was a spirit worlds house.
I moved over, and opened the door. We must be in the capital-for we were the town.
How I could tell?
A giant castle jutted from hilltops above the small houses of the village.
It shined brightly illuminated by thousands of lights, and it seemed to span about three thousand feet in perimeter.
"Wow."
"Let's get going," Yami said, grabbing my hand and leading the way. Once again, I looked at our clasped hands.
I wasn't complaining.

Traveling back to the castle was hard, mostly because of my worry of angering the King.
Also, because of the large crowd of citizens assembled around the palace.
"Excuse me sir, pardon me..." I heard Yugi politely saying, but his patience seemed to be wearing thin when he growled to a middle aged woman who stepped on his foot.
"Calm down Yugi, we're almost there."
I turned to see him nod, and give a half-hearted smile. I gave a full one back, and stopped when I practically slammed into the closed castle doors. Two gaurds were stationed at the sides, there gazes enough to kill.
"Excuse me, sir but I seek audience with the King..." I said peering close to one. My words didn't faze him.
"Dat ones alive, Ryo.." The left gaurd said to the right one, pointing at Yugi. I instantly went into a protection posture, hovering myself in front of Yugi, ignoring his protests.
"Do ya think he's a GS?" The right one said.
"I don't care, but tha King ordered to let any livin' in..." The left one said relactauntly, and pressed the knob on his side. The right one pressed the right knob, and I dipped my head, as the gigantic golden doors opened. I ushered Yugi in. The halls were cloaked in darkness, and a whisp of a whimper came from Yugi. He inched closer to me as I led him down the halls to the throne room.

"Why is it pitch black? Weren't there a lot of lights outside? Don't you guys need to see?"

"It's dark because the King has many secrets he doesn't want even his closest servants to know. The lights outside is a beacon of hope for the people-the lights are suppose to give warmth to the people. Yet they don't know of the darkness inside... Us spirits have a unique sense of direction." I said turning a corner leaving Yugi to his thoughts. He asked a few more questions which I gladly would have answered-but we reached the throne room. Only one measley torch flamed near the door illuminating the handed.

Yugi gulped, and goosebumps ran down my arms. I put my hand on the handle and started to pull.

"Don't speak unless he speaks to you, Yugi."
